I think it would cause too much turmoil to appoint someone after the primaries. All that "democracy is at stake" rhetoric would be nullified by doing so. I don't see any way they can leave him on the ticket after last night and all the Dems in media saying he needs to step down. We are a long way off but voters won't forget the Medicare question. It is his choice, but I don't see how he is the nominee in 7 weeks or so.
June 28, 20241 yr I'd rather vote for the guy who has Dementia then the convicted felon who lies every time he opens his mouth.

Axelrod as well.

Replacing him after the primaries is the riskier play, especially with no other candidates that came close to challenging him.

June 28, 20241 yr Well Biden gave a poor performance but it's not like Trump gave a stellar performance. He lied constantly throughout. I'd hardly call that winning.

He needs a better VP if he does stay which might easy some fears. I also think it's a disservice to all the Dem voters to not have a say vs delegates picking.
June 28, 20241 yr Funny with the back and forth between a group of posters in cvon and kz and the trump supporters about which candidate is mentally declining in the cheeto and Biden threads

Especially not if they want to win the minority vote (and Trump picks someone like Scott.) He should've never nominated her to begin with, Rice was a far better choice, but that ship has sailed and he's stuck with her now.

Poor is an understatement. It was the worst showing in the history of televised US presidential debates, and no one else is even close. And it wasn’t like Biden got beat. He self immolated. He even managed to make Trump look like the mature one with the golfing bit. It was so bad that even my cold, democrat hating heart felt bad for him.

I'm taking Whitmer over Gavin in a heartbeat.
