I wish I could believe that because Harris is the cleanest successor you could have, but I'm not sure I'm buying it.

It's true, we are all losers.  But as far as national profile, I don't think it matters much in this particular case.  The second this person is the official nominee, they're instantly the most famous person in the world.  And with the speed of the media cycle now, the public will have more than enough time to get to know them.  Honestly, I think it's more of an advantage nowadays then a disadvantage.

It's a 4-year job.  People are acting as though voters won't have a problem electing someone, while knowing that person is only going to be around for a fraction of that term.  Neither current candidate is remotely suitable; it's a pretty sad state of affairs if neither party shows interest in giving voters at least one viable alternative.

Well tough cookies Scooter, you don't get a 4 yr option this election.  You have a 1-2 yr option or a lifetime appointment to choose from.

If Biden drops out, what will CNN do with all their unused Biden/Harris ads?

Hmmm, so just 5 days later and the matchup is unchanged you say? It's almost like a debate in June might not move the needle much, if at all, regarding either candidate's chances in November.

I still think the larger issue is RFK Jr's presence.

He's polling way higher than Gary Johnson was. It's plausible he bleeds off enough support from potential Biden voters to give it to Trump. Just as plausible it goes the other way too.

if hunter is her VP pick, it would only require minor edits to the ads.

I love Biden.  Top 10 President easy.  And I certainly don't wish any harm on the guy.  But after yesterday's ruling, the stakes just got way, way too high for him to be the nominee.  Either the Dem wins or we 100% don't have another election ever.  And in no world is it worth hanging onto some tradition when the existence of the Republic is in the balance.

Wonder if that's just because he's the 3rd party candidate that media is putting out more because of the crazy ish he says

Kennedy makes more sense as Trump's VP pick.  I'm convinced he's only involved in the race as an agent for Trump in an attempt to siphon Democrat votes with his last name.  If Trump gets elected I put the chances at more than 50/50 Kennedy ends up with a job in his administration somewhere.

You can take the Kennedy out of the compound, but...

It's just an objective fact.  16M jobs gained.  Economic soft landing after taking over a disaster.  Record stock market.  Brought crime back down from the Trump crime spike.

But I'm sympathetic.  I understand that sometimes words are violence and reading those words hurt you, so I apologize.

It's because of his name. Americans are dumb. Distinguished Gentleman was apparently a documentary, not a comedy.

Doggett?!

I hardly know it!!

:worthy:

Trump calls them suckers and losers, and now project 2025 is looking to get in his ear about cuts to their medical care. I'll personally be fine either way, but some of these people's lives will be seriously impacted by decisions like this. I firmly believe we get the leaders we deserve but vets voting for Trump don't deserve this, and yet so many of them still will.
