It's part of the democratic process. DrPhilly is a doomer viewing things from afar but he's not cheerleading a coup in any sense.

Guys like Kz and Procus come to mind. At most DrPhilly may have cautioned against over-prosecuting both Trump and those involved in J6, mainly because it would become a political talking point for Trump. That's not being an apologist, that opining on the political ramifications of prosecuting - rightly or not - those politically opposed to the current executive.

First of all, Dave knows very well how anti Trump I am. He’s just trolling me with this silly line of attack. Second, I was always 100% behind prosecuting fully for Jan 6 matters. The one item I didn’t like with regard to Trump prosecution was the NY hush money case as I always thought it would just end up being a solid net gain for Trump. Basically just Moss trolling/fishing.

I don't think it will be perceived as such when Biden's already stated multiple times that he's not dropping out. A knives out scenario playing out publicly is horrible optics for the party and their chances to beat Trump in less than 4 months. We're now entering the third week of this circus and if a less than enthusiastic Biden eventually does agree to step aside, it'll be seen as the party elites disregarding the wishes of the primary voters and forcing him out against his will and that of his supporters. It's a massive gamble that could easily backfire.
