yeah...it's a sheetshow. dems are like...it's up to joe. i respect whatever he decides...even though he's already announced his decision. they just don't like his answer. it's a bad look for sure.

Actually, the Defense Secretary can only verify the order has been given by the proper President, he cannot veto it, theoretically soldiers are required to refuse to carry out illegal orders but I've seen enough military conduct over the course of my life to wonder how effective a safeguard that is in practise, and the US has discharged a military commander for asking a hypothetical "how can I be sure the order came from a sane President", strictly speaking the sole authority for the launch of Nuclear weapons DOES lie with the President actually, but I guess you more wanted to be obtuse than actually debate US nuclear protocols?

Also the job of US president involves more than just pressing the button, like being able to retain and understand the details of often complex and conflicting policy briefs, you get that right?

i think the point was made before that his piss poor character traits and behavior have become the norm and while some news outlets are still reporting on it, we've become numb to it. 

also, if you're politician and decide to politicalize your ancestral roots, you should probably vet that info first, but she didnt because she saw what she thought was a low hanging virture signal.

Neither solution is good optics, sticking with a gibbering Octagenarian just because he refuses to accept that the games up isn't going to win over voters either. The only reason people like Pelosi won't get off the fence is because she's terrified people will realise she's even older than Biden.

If nothing else what needs to come out of this whole bleak farce is some sort of scheme of mandatory reselection rather than just waving through the same dusty old farts who entered Congress just after Fleetwood Mac released Rumours until they die or retire.
