There have been people on here that have advocated for that.

Was it the 'Christian' fundamentalists? They firmly believe God doesn't want us to watch other people have sex because reasons but the bibles pretty clear instructions throughout that you should always help your fellow man were more a framework of advice than actually applicable to modern life, so the Police should just watercannon those homeless folks out of skid row.

Don't remember exactly, would need to search but might be too long ago if the threads were archived or if it was on the old boards. I think it was a trumpbot but don't recall any religious affiliation.

Yes. By then voting won't matter. Once Trump is voted into office, elections become irrelevant.

I just don't believe that Trump would get a plan like that through Congress and the Senate (there are still enough decent old school republicans to stand up and say no), if he did I genuinely believe the country would descend into Civil War.

All that matters is whether or not a large number of voters believe that Trump would execute an agenda based on Project 2025.  If that happens then you'll get a larger pro-Dem turnout and also a chunk of the independents shifting to the Dems.

he'll push through anything that would give more power to the executive branch (himself)...and he'll try anything to keep himself in a position of power so he can enrich himself & his family/friends. that's who he is.

speaking of project 2025...

The entire point of project 2025 is that the president will no longer need congress or the senate to write new laws. That's part of what is so horrifying about it. The civil war thing is unlikely since the president will be able to use military forces to invade cities and states and use deadly force to quiet dissent.

As long as they don’t ban Demps’ Mom’s livestream I’m good.

Yeah, you have to get the military to go along with those orders, you really genuinely think Trump wins in November and in January the US Army invades New York?

This is what I mean by scaremongering, when nothing like this happens, the media is telling the Voters see all the lies they said about Trump and nothing happened and then in a few years when Gaetz or some other tea party horses ass is standing and he really does want to centralize power to the presidency, and you try to raise the alarm and all the voters go, "meh you guys said this last time and nothing happened, cry me a river you sore losers"

Ultimately Trump is 78, there's a fair chance he doesn't live out his term, it's odds on he won't live long enough to establish a dictatorship, even if he plans to.

But he knows nothing about it, or those behind it.

He does wish them luck.

Nobody insults the intelligence of voters more than Trump does.

Not to be that guy but this is a red herring

He also said Trump has never done anything wrong and left voluntarily with no issues when he lost the last election.

  not really but you guys are in full blown crisis mode so let's just roll with it.

Lol how does that make any sense?

By winning a democratic election, elections are rendered irrelevant??

Is that just because you don't agree with the outcome?

Actually, the Defense Secretary can only verify the order has been given by the proper President, he cannot veto it, theoretically soldiers are required to refuse to carry out illegal orders but I've seen enough military conduct over the course of my life to wonder how effective a safeguard that is in practise, and the US has discharged a military commander for asking a hypothetical "how can I be sure the order came from a sane President", strictly speaking the sole authority for the launch of Nuclear weapons DOES lie with the President actually, but I guess you more wanted to be obtuse than actually debate US nuclear protocols?

Also the job of US president involves more than just pressing the button, like being able to retain and understand the details of often complex and conflicting policy briefs, you get that right?

Yeah, that’s not at all how it works. Thanks for playing, tho.

Zero chance you typed this with a straight face given your candidate's crying since November 2020 or your own characterizations of his indictments and felony convictions. I'm convinced that mirrors are illegal to own in the laughing stock of America known as WV.

If there are mass protests, yes I think he sends the troops in. Its not scare mongering, its believing he will do what he says he will do.

"The president was enraged," Esper recalled. "He thought that the protests made the country look weak, made us look weak and 'us' meant him. And he wanted to do something about it.

"We reached that point in the conversation where he looked frankly at [Joint Chiefs of Staff] Gen. [Mark] Milley and said, 'Can't you just shoot them, just shoot them in the legs or something?' ... It was a suggestion and a formal question. And we were just all taken aback at that moment as this issue just hung very heavily in the air."

Former President Donald Trump recently gave a glimpse into how his next administration would urge law enforcement to handle shoplifters if he wins the White House in 2024 − by shooting them in the store.

"We will immediately stop all of the pillaging and theft. Very simply: If you rob a store, you can fully expect to be shot as you are leaving that store," he said Friday during a speech to California Republicans.

"When we talk military, generally speaking, I talk National Guard,” the presumptive 2024 GOP nominee for president said in an interview that was published Tuesday.

Trump has vowed that on his first day in office, he plans to roll out a massive deportation effort reminiscent of an immigration crackdown that took place in the 1950s.

"I would have no problem using the military, per se,” he said. "We have to have law and order in our country. And whichever gets us there, but I think the National Guard will do the job.”

The interviewer, Time magazine national politics reporter Eric Cortellessa, asked how Trump could justify using the military, given the Posse Comitatus Act, an 1878 law that removed the military from civil law enforcement.

If Trump wins this will be the last real election we ever have. We might get to vote again, but our votes won't count. He will jsut say it was rigged and use fake electors like he tried to do last time, or just get his vp to refuse to certify the election so he can stay in power (What Pence refused to do last time).

People like Stewart and Maher have always struck me as guys more concerned with being able to say they were right rather than the outcome of any particular political issue.
