to be sure it's absolutely appalling that anyone would seek to assassinate a political figure in this nation, and speaks to a sad state of things.

for the innocent man killed and those wounded I have the utmost sympathy for. it's tragic what their families are dealing with.

but Trump does not cut a sympathetic figure and it's hard for me to muster much grief for him in any way. public figures have to earn some measure of respect for me to compose any amount of empathy, and Trump has earned zero. 

Trump represents the worst base impulses of the right in this country.

JD Vance is a terrible pick. The guy had a nice little rags to riches story with his book and to make a career for himself before becoming a politician. Then he ripped Trump, now joins him. What a ish show.
