If I can get a likeable candidate from the dems, I can convince myself they may make a good president even if I dont agree with ALL of their policies. She was playing to the black vote, that Harris contributed to the unjust criminal system that black and other people of color protest against. Tulsi claimed Harris went for the more extreme sentences than needed, prosecuted harsh sentences for weed, and claimed she withheld evidence. Not that "we shouldn't punish criminals." I've seen many black people over the years complain about Harris' record as a prosecutor as well. It won't matter now, as she already marketed herself well as the prosecutor and Trump is the prosecuted. Trump is a convicted felon, which alone is absurd he can be on a ballot. Her record as a prosecutor is easy to spin or explain and quickly deflect back on to current issues. A simple rebuttal to her prosecution record is that she enforces the law, Trump breaks it. She upholds the Constitution, Trump incited Jan 6, etc. etc. What she has to do now is build a case for what she's done. The average voter doesn't know anything she's actually done. People that don't follow the news might see clips of her dancing, talking about her favorite rapper or remember the "I was speaking" line in the last VP debate. She gets criticism for being assigned to address the border crisis and doing nothing. They have to build her talking points of achievements and focus on what she'll do, and of course contrast to Trump.
