Thank you Uncle Joe for your service and being a selfless person and doing the right thing for the wellbeing of our country!

I trust that this new nominee process will go smoothly.  So many people hate him.  History won't.

I hope he sees this, bro.

At the end of the day, you're arguing about candidates who will both do largely the same things when they're in power. Neither will achieve a toot on a tin whistle with regards to reducing inequality between the richest and poorest in society, and to be fair they don't have to as long as they can continue to convince enough rubes that it's foreigners and Woke that are responsible for the decline of US industry and infrastructure since the Reagan era come election time.

Trump will likely do something catastrophic around climate, but lets not pretend either will commit America as leader of the free world to take the level of action needed to actually change the trajectory in any meaningful sense, so it's likely just a question of whether it's your great grandchildren or great great grandchildren who are fighting wars for the ever decreasing strips of liveable land once the Arctic methane seeps go.

So yeah, pick Kamala, pick Trump, it really hasn't made any difference for years, rich folks, lobbyists for foreign states and corporations haven't spent billions upon billions of campaign and advertising dollars on congressional and presidential elections the last 45 years getting these clowns elected to help the likes of you. They're a distraction, Maggie Simpson's steering wheel.

Leaving NATO would be significant.

Leaving NATO is the biggest scare story of them all, he'll never do it, he'll just let Dems scaremonger over it and go 'see they were lying to ya'. End of the day he's got most of Europe committed to upping their defense spending which was his ultimate goal and leaving NATO would risk those dollars being spent domestically rather than on American weapons.

Good point.  I am going to head over to the bombshell thread and request the mods to close it.

What an edgy take :o

Sounds like you want some sort of widespread structural change towards full Socialism.  That's not gonna happen.  Sorry.

Roe v Wade could have been codified in any of the intervening 50 years up to the Supreme Court decision and it wasn't which is why we are where we are, there's no way you'd get it through congress as is, because both parties have just enough horses asses in congress to make sure it gets held up and watered down until it's meaningless and dies on it's ass like it did in 1993.

Right, Harris and Trump are two peas in a pod, totally the same thing voting for one vs the other. Not a difference at all between the two. Solid take, man!

If she wins at all, it will be by an incredibly slim margin. There are no landslides anymore and she's gotta stop idiots from voting for RFK Jr while trying to boost turnout for her base to outcompete the morons who think God saved trump from a democrat assassin.

And yet republicans removed it and that'll bite them in the ass during election

"I think" means it's my opinion that she wins in a landslide

You can bring up the posts if it doesn't happen

The alternatives aren't solely This crap or Socialism, Eisenhower was perfectly comfortable with high marginal tax rates and help for the poorest in society and he wasn't a socialist in any sense of the word. That's the problem with US politics in a nutshell, we've moved the supposed center ground so far to the right that the policies of guys like Nixon look like pinko nonsense, we think American society has always been a survival of the fittest, devil take the hindmost Randian fantasy and it's nonsense.

Someone working 40 hours a week in any sort of job should be able to maintain a roof over their head and a standard of living above basic subsistence, that shouldn't be a controversial view, nor should it be considered Socialism.

Of all the replacements for Biden she is the worst politically speaking. Gavin is a POS but he is smooth talking and charming, Gretch is a better choice,  so is Shapiro, and obviously Michelle would be. Say what you want, but of all the top Dems Trump could be facing she gives him the best shot in November.

Neither will make a significant difference to your quality of life. That you refuse to accept or acknowledge that is a you problem.

I think at this point Joe gives the finger to everyone and pardons him.

Not true for me.  I work in renewables.  Trump would be terrible for "my" quality of life.
