July 22, 20241 yr Harris did very well in her VP debate with Pence. Women still talk about the "Excuse me, I'm speaking" moment. A black woman putting Trump in his place will excite the voters (if they debate). I think she will be well prepared and be able to put those gaffes in the past. She just needs to have strong stump speech and talking points. I expect her to have more "I'm speaking" type lines and zingers. Younger voters will be glad to finally have a younger candidate. Many women will rally around her pro choice views. Trump will inevitably make sexist comments about her that will fire up women voters as well. No one really likes Harris, no one wanted her in the primaries last time around. If Biden made a different VP pick, they'd be rallying around that person and not even think about Harris. But it makes the most sense to promote the VP and get a solid VP pick alongside her. This is now a team effort to keep Trump out of the White House. Rally around Harris and her VP pick. And the campaign will continue to contrast Biden/Harris regime with Jan 6, Trump as convicted felon, attack his character and person, Project 2025, Roe v Wade, plus the usual Democrat policy talking points.

The general public that doesn't pay attention to politics year-round, often watch TV debates. I actually think debates aren't great to begin with because they are given such a short time to speak on a subject, the candidates interrupt each other, and they often breeze over a question and then talk about their own stump speech talking points. I think town halls are better because the candidate gets to explain in more depth their views and give examples. If there's no debate, then it will be rallys and stump speeches. Trump goes on rants about Hannibal Lecter, black jobs and whatever, and Harris and her team will prepare her with talking points, policy and contrasting with how terrible Trump is. Trump will then respond with more crazy, eventually say something sexist and possibly boob (and racial comment too! ).
