We didn't need less troops in recent wars than in WW2 and Vietnam?  Hmmmkay!

Jesus Fn Christ I’m not doing a rehash of the stupid photo debate over your smooth brained takes so we can bore everyone half to death.

If you want to keep it going take to DM. Otherwise let it go.

Says the guy who tried to imply 50 years in warfare technology is nothing.

What classifies as a "small donor donation”?

Oh, right, I’m sorry, you also brought up *checks notes* aircraft with a reduced RCS.

Yeah I’m sure our less than two hundred F-22s, twenty some B-2s, and not to the numbers of what we need of F-35s are really going to tip the scales in terms of beating China.

And the precision guided weapons. That’ll really do it since Ukraine is showing us that in protracted wars the big thing needed is massed fires.

The big advances are ISR, but that still doesn’t reduce the need for bodies.

Every war that ever happened was more technologically advanced than the war before it, and yet somehow the advances didn’t lead to less soldiers needed.

A potential war with China is interesting because the most likely scenario is a Taiwan invasion, and that would be the first fundamentally defensive war the US has fought since Vietnam and the first major naval war since WW2.

I know the USMC has been revitalizing an island hoping strategy to fight in the pacific.

I do think there are some significant differences given the proximity of China and Taiwan to each other as well as the vastness of the Pacific Ocean. It’s weird because it would simultaneously be a fight in a phone booth but also the longest engagement distances in the history of warfare.

The first few days will definitely be both sides launching missiles at each other, and certainly the air war will be pivotal, but as you alluded to, war always comes down to boots on the ground. Even the first gulf war and the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq came down to ground forces taking and holding territory regardless of America’s air dominance.

I do kind of think that China has a window of about 5-10 years to make their move if they’re going to do it. The entire DOD is shifting its focus towards Asia for acquisition programs.

One thing I think people overlook with China is what if it’s more than Taiwan?

obviously it’s their biggest target, but with their nine dash line if they also make moves against Vietnam and/the Philippines it complicates our response.

Also I don’t think we have the depth in our missiles that we should have. I’m pretty sure INDOPACOM writhes in pain anytime CENTCOM launches a bunch of TLAMs at some barbarians without air defenses.

Who knew doing the right thing would actually be rewarded? Haven't seen that in a while.

When a lot of people donate upwards of $200.

Maybe all that money will transform Kamala into a legit candidate who isn't a failure with a fake personality.

The only thing that matters is that she beats Trump.  It doesn't matter how fake or sheety she is as a person or politician.  Her single job is to drive turnout and if she can do that then Trump is kept out of the WH.  That's the entire summary of what matters in this contest.  I would rather it not be the case but it is what it is and it isn't going to change no matter how much you or the rest of MAGA complain about it.

Yeah no ish.  My point is that she won't drive turn out, she never has, because she's unlikeable and sucks at her job

JFC man, money has been pouring into her campaign, and tens of thousands of people have joined her campaign. They can ati eff this up, but the Dems are as United as ever and this fact scares the eff out of MAGA. They can’t stop talking about Biden.

An old guy stepping down isn’t a coup.

This is what an attempted coup looks like:

This doesn't look like any other coup attempt in history.  Are you sure?

It was a lot closer than what happened this weekend.  How many people died when Biden announced he was not running this fall?

According to the super secret "internet chatter" that procus is plugged into, Biden apparently did and that voice you heard on the call was just AI. They're casting for a body double as we speak!

a coup? really?

this is the 253rd narrative the gop came up with since the announcement? a coup?

my party should be touting this as a victory, instead they are playing the victim cards.

FWIW that's an average contribution of $91.
