I'm always an a-hole, so I know what I'm talking about.

Both sides have the ability right now to act like total a-holes, and they are. Saying it's cool being one because the other side is worse is childish and the reason our country is going to such crap. That also doesn't change what I posted, which is true. Both sides are laughing at the other right now, fully confident they are going to win, while people like me think both choices suck.

That you would consider voting for Trump is amazing to me. I don't know what a Trump needs to do to prove to you he cares only about Trump.

That you can't see this, is frankly, stunning.

It's amazing reading this forum where liberals are freaking out and think things are going their way and a right-leaning one where they are equally as confident and think things are going their way. Meanwhile, I'm still in the middle, saying both of these choices still suck. One sucks more than the other, but both sides are off their rocker.

There are way less liberals in CVON than you think, or at least not as liberal as you believe. It’s also possible to have a liberal approach to some issues, and conservative on others.

You are also not in the middle just because you criticize both sides.

The extremes of both sides are off their rocker, but to say that both parties are equally bad is simply not true. The GOP has been totally taken over by far-right religious fanatics who want to implode their barbaric ideology on everyone.

Well, you live in a world where you only see your side then, which is frankly stunning. It's no secret I hate Harris, and while I'm not closing the door on voting, my emotions have cooled a bit since her promotion, and I would rather stay home.

I think Trump is a horrible person. I wouldn't say I like many things that happened after the election, but he did leave office. No brownie points for that but this notion that now that this time he wouldn't leave is ridiculous.

The Supreme Court is probably the biggest issue I vote on, and while you may be unhappy with it right now, I love it. That doesn't mean I like all their decisions, but the things I feel strongest about are protected. States have the right to decide on abortions. I prefer every state to allow it for the typical three exemptions of rap, incest, or health of the mother. But I do not want Harris replacing Thomas any more than you liked Trump replacing RBG. I think our border can't continue the way it has under Biden. Our cities are turning to total crap. I love Denver and will be in CO in a few weeks. It's turned into a crap show because of all the migrants. It's the same with NYC.

I can't stand Trump, but I want to see him make the changes to the border and appoint a replacement for Thomas. They won't happen under Harris, who's left of Biden. So regardless of if you agree or understand there is another point of view that many hold. We don't like Trump and wish he wasn't the option but he's a lot closer to what we feel is important vs a Harris REGARDLESS of all the other BS you get with him.

I'm not going to debate these issues with you. They are my feelings, right or wrong, and you will not change them. You were amazed as to why people would, and those are some reasons. If you consider them valid, it is irrelevant. I disagree with your views, and many like them, but I get it, and while I disagree, I'm not going to belittle them. 47% of the country is on either side.

That depends on where you stand. One could argue the far-left has taken over the Dems and allowed the border to be overrun, and doesn't want us to stand with Israel.

I'm no fan of ID blocking 3 reasons for women to get an abortion. You are right.

I'm not an independent you are right. I'm conservative, but I think both suck, even if I like one better than the other.

I grow tired of people on one side saying the other side is better than the other, and they can't understand why one would vote the way they do. Both sides are leaving us. People are just picking the one they prefer.

What changes will he make at the border? He had 4 years and did squat. He built a few miles of walls at a horrific expense, and they did nothing to stop the flow.

The Democrats had a bill to tighten security, and Trump had it killed, because he doesn't care unless it is HIM.

How can you not see that?

That's BS. They put a bill forward knowing it wouldn't pass because of the BS in there they knew the GOP would never go for just so they could say we tried and now it's the GOP's fault. That doesn't mean the GOP hasn't tripped over their own junk many times on the issue.

Say what you will about what he did, but cities like Denver and NYC were not being overrun the way they are. Again, I'm not going to debate you on this. Think what you want, but you are ridiculous if you only see things your way and belittle people who disagree. I'm not snow-white in that regard, but I'm trying, even if I have a long way to go.

There wasn't BS in there.   It was the right's wet dream.  They literally had negotiated a bill with two parts, a Dem part and a Rep part, and then when the stuff hit a fever pitch last spring, they removed the Dem part and left everything the right had been asking for in there.

There were only 2 reasons they could've thought it wouldn't pass: one was if the Dems came out against it in large numbers (they didn't) and the other was if the Republicans put politics over the actual policies they'd been fighting for for decades (they did).  There was no poison pill in this bill.  It was killed 100% because Trump was afraid it would help the Dems.  He's even said as much, so there's really no counter argument here.

You're wrong on this one and you are wrong in thinking that the Dems are as bad as the Repubs.

I see things diferently, but I really don't care to go into it here and dive into a few pages of it. Nobody's mind will be changed. I'd rather just go on to other things.

Cool story. I'm pretty sure I said both sides have issues and one side saying the other is worse is one reason we are spiraling. All it generates is anger and I've been part of it.

The democrats wanted to pass that bill really, really badly.  Most Republicans did too but Trump cracked the whip on them.

ok.  But what I said is how it actually went down.  And I think the right's really gonna regret that one (along with a whole lot of mistakes they've made under Trump's leadership).  Political opportunities that align perfectly don't come along often.  And 100% of what you're after without having to bend to the other side is a unicorn in Washington, but it just so happened that they had the Dems by the balls there and then Trump stepped in and squandered it.  It's not likely that they'll get another shot at that either.  Zero chance with Trump in office.  There's no political motivation or desire to work with him on anything.  And unless the stars align electorally, they won't get it with Kamala in either.  It was a massive strategic blunder.

How I see DC and many people on both sides

I'm still guilty of it, but four years ago, I was a lot worse, and I hope to get better. It's never going to happen, but I'd love for both sides to try as well. This hatred and anger coming from both isn't good.

I'm pages behind, but since he was already nominated at the convention can he even be replaced at this stage?

Would make Trump look even more incompetent to have to scramble at VP even if he could..

Yep, the bill was loaded with sheet that would have simply allowed activists judges to "process" (accept) asylum claims quicker. It was complete garbage from the start, as everyone knew. If Biden was serious about "fixing the border" he could have just not intentionally torpedoed it on day one of his administration. But he did, and it's quite clear that FUBARing the border and allowing in millions of illegals was a priority of his administration.

It depends more on who and what you believe.

I agree that the far left wants to abandon Israel, but Biden does not. The far left criticizes him because he has not abandoned them. We are still sending them a ton of weapons and other aid.

I’m not even going to address the immigration/border issue. I see you have already been called out on it, and I having nothing more to add to that would budge your position.
