I wanted to wait until she picked her VEEP to make it official, but yeah I fully expect her to be flat out, indisputably winning this race come Labor Day. That doesn't means she wins, Trump's team will probably recalibrate for the stretch run, but she will be winning and that is a mighty crazy turn of events.

Trump campaign has been hit by a bus, Lacivita & Wiles have been caught flat footed.  Nobody can smell it better than donald himself and he is acting out like he he thinks its worse than even we are seeing it.

Yeah the past 24 hrs has been pretty telling. Trump is too stupid to avoid stepping on the landmines and RFK Jr has almost been entirely purged from the news cycle. If she just remains focused and avoids any major gaffes, she's in great shape to close this out. If you'd have asked me two weeks ago whether Trump could be trailing in multiple polls by Aug 1st, I'd have told you it was a fantasy, but somehow here we are.

Well those hypothetical German and American parents are white, so they're people.  The Indian/Jamaican discussion is about brown people, which in HE's world is more of collection of political memes than actual people. I'm sure in life, he's wrapped his head around friends being both Irish and Italian....German and Scottish or whatever, and never thought twice about it.  But this is different. Because reasons.

I'm sure if he's making his Italian mom's spaghetti and Meatballs for his friends, he qualifies it all night with "hey it might suck cuz I'm half german"  Otherwise he would be a dishonest, bad person.

You guys went to bed, woke up and decided to try all the same poor arguments from last night again.  Last night was a big L for you and now youre gonna pretend it didnt happen, but are making the mistake of repeating it exactly.

Its not a matter of Kamala being multi-racial being an issue, or hard to comprehend. Its the fact that she likes to be identified as only 1 at a time- whichever is most convenient for her at the time.

Most people dont do that. But shes phony.

Adding salt in the wound is how poorly she treated one of those groups in her career as a prosecutor. But now that its convenient she is trying to identify with them again to get their votes.

oh man. so the white kids who listen to rap and hang out with black kids are also now african americans because culturally thats who they grew up with. It just keeps getting better from you guys.

Your barking up the stupid tree.  Because those white kids never lived the black experience of America.  She has lived her entire life as black and Indian woman in the United States of America.

FFS sake it's like explaining primary colors to a child.

She better believe she was ostracized by black people growing because she was bi racial and she isn't a real "black" person.

I genuinely believe you've never had a casual discussion with a minority in your entire life. Not even like, as a best friend. But just a neighbor you talk about the weather with.

It's such a weird thing to focus on, and like I said yesterday, I don't see who you're winning with this argument. You already have the racists. Minorities would be a possible area for growth. And you can't grow that market by tossing out weird arguments that literally don't happen in minority neighborhoods.

Being white/black, or Asian/Puerto Rican, or Indian/Black doesn't mean you constantly express in conversations that you're "biracial" or "half this, half that." Over the past 15 years, I've lived in Philly, Brooklyn, Chicago, San Francisco, Oakland, and Lower Manhattan...around largely mixed groups of people. I've seen all sorts of debates, but never about "Hey that Filipino/Black guy keeps saying that he's 'Black' but technically he's only half black so he's lying and phony."  No one is walking around with a 23andMe, so depending on context, if you're Jamaican and Chinese, you might refer to yourself as Black, or if contextually relevant, Jamaican, or if contextually relevant Chinese.

You think you have a winning case here, but all I keep seeing is a guy who must REALLY live out in the sticks, and only knows minorities through conservative internet memes.

May be an image of ‎3 people and ‎text that says '‎ויי didn't know he was Orange until a number of years ago, when he happened to turn Orange. I respect either one, but but he obviously doesn't because all of a sudden he made a turn and he went- he he became an Orange person. I think somebody should look into that."‎'‎‎

I had a friend in middle school who was half-mexican and half-white, and was raised in the suburbs. He had some distant relatives and other mexican friends from Detroit who would make fun of him for being half-white, calling him coconut, and other ish. Basically, no matter what he said or did, he was never going to be mexican enough for them. And then in school, there were raycist sheetheads who called him beaner, ****, etc and he sure as ish was never going to be seen as another white kid to them. He basically got to experience the worst of both worlds. I think about people like him ever since Trump was elected.

I dont think Trump has a winning case.

And I understand what you are saying here but its different in those everyday conversations vs what she has done to further her career.

Trump is not going to win over the majority of black voters with this. Hes just trying to get whatever votes he can from wherever he can because thats what politicians need to try to do.

Some people will notice her shape shifting and her history of treating black people poorly and become rubbed the wrong way when she shifts shape again to try to gain their votes. It wont be a lot. But its an ugly thing she has done, and it may gain him some.

There are people here who aren't used to talking to women or black people and it really shows. They're also invariably Trumpers.

I literally do it ALL THE TIME.  When I'm in the states or watching football I'm from Baltimore, when I'm surrounded by blacks I'm a person of color, when I'm traveling with passport I'm from the United States, when i talk about Trump, I'm definitely from puerto rico and can't vote (not my fault).  Everybody does that sort of thing if they have any smidgen of diversity in their cultural or biological background.

You JUST DON'T GET IT, it's too difficult for you to understand because apparently you never ever have friends or co workers in your circle from diverse backgrounds.

I doubt it will happen. All of Trump's handlers are sycophants. He's yet to be told that he's doing terribly. The possibility of going to prison will keep Trump in the race.

FAT CHANCE. Even if he loses he declares victory anyways.

Only one way to settle this.... bring this back:

Spoiler

It will never happen. He will claim he won no matter how much he loses by.

When I say "winning" I don't mean winning the majority of black voters. Of course that won't happen.  I mean literally winning anyone new who wasn't already on board with him. This isn't a road he needed to take. It's another dumb detour he created for himself because he lacks discipline. Maybe he could have chipped away at minority votes with "The justice system is unfair! See what they did to me!?"  or "Liberals are phony and don't really care about you."   But "Kamala is Indian and Jamaican and thus not really black." it doesn't land. Just a dumb detour.  Whatever black people were considering voting for him did not grow from this interaction...and even by a few fractions of a percentage, could have weakened.

how aswesome is it that we have one of the only three people breathing air today, that thought the NABJ interview was an L for dems?
