He's pretty much the most "mid-western dad" politician you can think of. He's the calm, steady hand in the midst of the chaos. I'd prefer Shapiro, but part of me wants Walz just to see an NCO get that high. Plus in the debates it negates the Couch Fer from bringing up "when I was in the military" because Walz was Arty for like thirty years.

August 6, 20241 yr I know very little about these VP candidates, but from what little I’ve seen I’ve been most impressed by Shapiro. Apparently the choice is down to either Shapiro or Tim Walz. I’ve been hearing about how many strong candidates Harris has to choose from, so she’ll likely not be disappointed in either. She may have very good reasons for selecting Walz. I just hope she isn’t swayed unduly by the old guard in her party. I’ve heard reports that Walz is the favorite of Pelosi, Bernie Sanders, and also a favorite of Joe Biden. Also, the "progressive” wing of her party is concerned that Shapiro might be too pro-Israel. Imagine that — being Jewish and all. While I believe Shapiro can help deliver Pennsylvania even if he isn’t the choice for VP, it would be an historic gaffe if Harris chooses Walz, fails to carry PA, and loses the electoral college.
