August 6, 20241 yr Would Shapiro represented a boost in any other way outside of PA? I get that PA is a must win but Walz is a pretty benign pick from a national POV. Seems like a pretty safe pick.
August 6, 20241 yr I'm thinking Tim Walz should dye his hair. He is only one year older than Harris afterall. Governor, School Teacher and Veteran. He rocks.

Well one thing is clear, the Pro Palestinian, anti sex harrassment cultre crowd on the left that sabotaged Shapiro, now have nothing left to complain about and should be voting for Harris.

I don’t get the riot "baggage”. Who was the President when that happened? Anything they throw at Walz can be turned on Trump.

You're acting like Israel and being a Jew was the only reason. I don't think it was at all. Shapiro and Harris are also a little too similar in background and style. Things have never gone well for Democrats when they double down on coastal personalities and Shapiro does come off a bit slick. I get that I'm talking politics on an eagles Message board and you guys love him, but from my view Waltz will resonate better with middle america. Shapiro also had the very real chance of outshining Harris and coming off as the actual candidate at a time when they are preciously tight to create a new message. It wasn't just the protestors, socially middle voters were going to be put off by an all minority ticket of any ilk. I got plenty of reasons why i didn't like the Shapiro pick, it felt completely data oriented and not holistic which a national campaign has to be.

There is a reason the Biden campaign ran fast and hard away from the far left and BLM/Defund the police. It was going to lose him the election and he knew it. Biden was able to do it because of his record but the governor of MN and a Presidential nominee who publicly supported defund the police will not. It was Trump's most effective method to find votes in the middle and the DNC just put that weapon right back in his hand. Pray he doesn't find enough. 1 minute ago, jsdarkstar said: Well one thing is clear, the Pro Palestinian, anti sex harrassment cultre crowd on the left that sabotaged Shapiro, now have nothing left to complain about and should be voting for Harris. She wanted to go with Shapiro, but the party leadership told her the DNC would turn into a disaster and become 4 days of protests/riots about Gaza. So she caved.

I will say the guy is Midwest as F, and oozes that whole salt of the earth, humble, wholesome dad next door charm. Like I said before, if you wanted to pick someone to help secure WI, he's easily the best of who was on their list.

But what's killing me here is these same people crying foul about Shapiro's jewishness and the palestinians, haven't said SQUAT about the fact Whitmer and Butigieg were both better than any of the candidates and didn't even whiff the finals because only a CRAZY PARTY WOULD PAIR THE FIRST FEMALE AND BLACK/INDIAN POTUS WITH ANOTHER MINORITY OF ANY TYPE. FFS, Trump f'ed up by not diversifying his ticket and people are crying because Harris didn't double down on a full minority ticket which would have been equally stupid! And remember, harris didn't win a primary, so she doesn't have the mandate with the party to do something radical, she is obligated to go safe and waltz was the safest.

Where are you getting all this insight into Harris? No one knows what she wanted other than her. At the end of the day, this is still a "anyone but Trump” election. Shapiro would have turned some voters off, Walz doesn’t.

Read about who her big Wall Street backers are, and it won't be hard to guess which ones I know.
