She’s running against Trump, a candidate people despise so much they were pretty much just asking for anyone with a pulse to be the candidate.   Harris didn’t even finish in the top 8 in 2020 in the Democratic primary.  And I don’t think she’s done anything to change the tide on her popularity since then.

I think that, plus the fundraising to date, proves she's certainly popular enough to win the election. Which is all that really matters anyways, no point in trying to split hairs on this.
