But it seems to me all they are doing is increasing the suspense and expectation for Harris' first interview which will probably come in the next week or two. It's literally the next big event after this rally swing that they have to keep the momentum before the DNC. I swore I wasn't make a prediction til at least labor day but dayum...

The mistake you are making is assuming Trump is capable of rational thought. He isn't. I think it was Stephanie Grisham who nailed it before the PC -- he's freaking out that he is losing, and he decided he could turn it all around with a press conference because he believes he is a genius. So he won't listen to his team and just believe he can go out and seize the momentum. Basically, he's mentally challenged but also a raging narcissist.
