I don't see the Harris-Walz ticket fumbling that enthusiasm away on their own, so Republicans need to force a fumble -- find something in Harris' political background, before she became VP in the Biden Administration, and make it stick. It's gonna be tough to paint her with the current administration's record -- Biden will step forward and own that. Trying to slander Walz' military service isn't going to stick -- that's a non-starter for a lot of voters. Trump is old, tired, low energy and yesterday's news. The loudest and most excited I've heard him is when he was yelling that Biden is going to walk into the Democratic Convention and say he wants his Presidency back. Sounds deluded, because it is. Voters are numb to his criminality and general scumbaggery, but at the same time I think it will hinder his turnout somewhat. His base 37-40% will show up, but I can't see sane Republican and Independent voters having the energy for 4-5 more years of his schtick. Not enough to make a special trip to go cast a vote for him, anyway. The bigger contest will be certification of the win. You just know Republicans are going to try something. Personally, I think it would help to count and announce the mail-in voting results faster. Have everything counted and declared other than the last 2-3 days of ballots postmarked but yet to come in -- I can't imagine that's a high percentage.
