Interesting she would say that. Maybe they really want a spot with Harris and are saying that to negotiate. I don't get why she would say Trump is better for them.

I'd assume it would be easier for them to finagle their way into Trump's staff than Harris'.  He likes yes-people so if they bend the knee I could see plenty of options for both. Their policies also seem more in line although who knows how much of that is lip service.

sloth level 2am internet posts coming?

I will say people thinking the economy is turning around are full of crap. Someone at Optum just reached out because they were let go along with tech being a train wreck. Things are bad.

Is this real?

depends on the industry you're in. we can't book deals quick enough in the construction, office equipment & medical sectors, but yeah, the tech side is suffering.

Optum is healthcare. I'm glad some are doing well, though.

Then pick a metric and let's discuss the data. I'm not interested in anecdotes, hunches, or vibes. Reals over feels.

True story.  When Trump won in 2016, everyone I know was fired.  Over the last 4 years though, every single person that was fired was rehired at double the salary.

Well, real is the impact it's had on me and my of my friends. Doesn't get more real than that.

Oh no, I sure hope these ladies don't read CVON or that might switch their vote to Harris because someone called her a ho.

Dem party operatives?

I already said I'm not interested in anecdotes. We live in a country of 330M people. For every example of a struggling employee in industry X, I can provide one from industry Y that's thriving, and we'll never get anywhere.

No, regular people.  Blue collar mainly.  The wild part is that most of their bosses told them when they were being let go that it was because there was no longer any leadership in the world.

optum is under united health?

Imagine how low your T levels have to be to be impressed by this:

I'm a statistic, not an anecdote. I'll leave it at that.

Here in south central PA, manufacturing is screaming for, skilled marching operators, skilled trades, and engineers. Anecdotal for sure, but my wife and I go out to eat at least once a week, and the restaurants we go to are packed. We stopped at a place outside of Hershey last Tuesday at 1400, and the place was crowded AF, we had a hard time finding a parking spot. I sarcastically said to my wife, "the economy really sucks right now, people are out drowning their sorrows in food and alcohol on a Tuesday afternoon.” Tens of thousands of people paying $14 a beer at the Phillies game. There are still plenty of problems with the economy, but it doing pretty damn good considering where Covid left us.

Have you considered making different career choices?

You cult freaks call every woman that speaks out against Trump a ho.  You called Nikki Haley a ho.  It’s your only move. It’s why memes like this exist.

Your optimistic self is consistent in all things. Tech is not a train wreck. Job growth within the tech sector is still growing faster than other sectors. There is a huge investment going into the AI technology transition that will both help and hurt other sectors of the economy and the one ailing area is startup capital because money is expensive right now -- for all sectors but tech startups rely more on this than most. I think polling people who were recently let go might skew the results one way, possibly.

Yeah, which will probably happen sooner than later, but it's not fun when you have been in tech forever.
