Looks like NYP got it wrong -- shocker. My apologies. Also looks like they baited the baby into it.

Shame we still have some Trump sympathizers in here.

long had HE foreseen this, and we all doubted his grand wisdom.

I'd like to see the footage of him playing his second from that spot.  Guarantee he picked up and dropped in the fairway (had Walt go pick up and drop, I mean).

I tend to really like policy wonks who are highly intelligent and have a deep analytical understanding of the issues. Those candidates always lose. Spouting facts and figures, citing historical precedent, and talking about policy nuances that are possible to pass a deeply divided congress just puts the average voter straight to sleep. If people actually liked these candidates we would be talking about President Rubio's second term.

I think that's because usually the people who know policy and facts/figures generally lack charisma.  Good charisma is worth it's weight in gold.

That said, the best debaters have both.  Look no further than John Edwards in the '04 VP debate.  He didn't use policy the whole debate, but when he did use it, it was overwhelming (Cheney's congressional voting record), and he was so charismatic that what Cheney thought was a defense of his lesbian daughter and a compliment to his being a good father to her was actually designed to put him down to his own base.

He didn't agree to unmute them. He said he didn't care, but they should abide by the rules they agreed to to have them muted.

Cause Joe never used notes during press conferences. I'm not saying they should never have notes, but during a debate? Not a fan of that. The point is to learn more about how they think, not only hearing talking points.

I’d rather they be prepared and have notes with actual facts that the voters need to hear.  That shows me they took the time to learn and do some homework versus standing there lying about literally everything and making crap up as they go.  Trump makes a living off of that tactic.  It’s why fact checkers exist.

You mean their staff and handlers or speechwriters did the work and gave them talking points.

Regardless, SOMEONE did the work and we’d hear actual facts and truthful information rather than complete and utter BS from both sides.

Or we hear their spin of the truth. Look, if they want notes for speeches, great. I personally don't want leaders to have a cheat sheet. They won't get one when they talk to foreign leaders.

Bottom line is did they agree to have notes? No, so her campaign can STFU. Did they agree to have the mic unmuted? No? STFU the same way they have told Trump to. That's what they have told him when he wanted to change things so they can now live with it as well.

Keep using the mute button for the debate. It helps so much with the moderating

is there a wnba game on while the debate is scheduled? i might watch that instead.

No one is going bananas or weird trolling.

Simply by responding to him he thinks you are upset. It's one of many coping mechanisms he uses to get through his day.

Aside from Putin himself, nobody is angrier about Ukraine's success than Trump

You don't need "resting" but apparently you need Big Mac eating and air brushing

Trumps campaign are the one who want his mic muted, not Kamala’s campaign.  So if anyone is asking him to stfu it’s is his own staff.  They smartly do not want him talking because she’s going to mopped the floor with him.  And for his sake he better have a prerecorded set of responses that his staff can just pull the rip cord on his diaper and it spits out a canned response, ya know like those cabbage patch dolls.

The rules are to have them muted. Now her campaign is trying to change that.

But Biden is no longer running for president. And Harris’ campaign wants the microphones to be hot at all times during the ABC debate — as has historically been the case at presidential debates.

Tough crap. She has said for weeks they have to abide by the rules agreed to under Biden.

For its part, the Trump campaign sees this all as a bait and switch. They want the ABC debate governed by the CNN rules — even though those rules were agreed to by the Biden campaign, not the Harris campaign.

More BS because because for weeks they have said Trump should live with them even though Biden agreed to them.  What happens with any debate after ABC is fair game.

Trump barely answered any questions during the last debate. Most was just straight up lying. All of the focus was on Biden having his episodes

Kamala will need to find a nice mixture of actually talking policy while calling out all his lies IMO

If they can bait Trump into hot mics, they'll have hot mics.  It's worth a shot by her.  She wants to make sure he talks as much as possible.  We'll see if he has the restraint to not take the bait and agree to it.  He's behind and needs the debate more than she does.

Tulsi might be the only anti-war democrat left, so it makes sense she's endorsing Trump.

I’m reading that they were to be unmuted but his campaign was trying to have them muted and he is undermining them saying he’d "rather have them on probably.”  But I guess it depends on which source you’re reading and trust.  Either way for his part, he’s better off if they’re muted.  He won’t be able to control himself which is of course what Harris’ campaign knows and wants him to show his true colors and dig his own grave.

That's fine, but when for weeks they have been saying STFU, he needs to abide by the rules and now are screwing around, it's a double standard.
