February 4, 20241 yr NBC on Meet the press touts that the election is pretty much over. Trump is too far ahead of Biden. This all based on a poll of a thousand people, over a 3rd of which are unemployed.

February 7, 20241 yr Serious question: does Haley beat Harris in a head to head election? Neither one seems like they have strong support from their base.
February 7, 20241 yr The Nevada GOP primary is a sham anyway. State law requires a primary, but the Republican party decided to hold a caucus on Thursday to award delegates. Candidates who appeared on the primary ballot will not be awarded any delegates. https://nevadagop.org/press-release-nevada-republicans-will-conduct-first-in-the-west-caucus-on-february-8-2024-with-voter-id-paper-ballots-and-results-released-the-same-night/ Quote the Nevada Republican Central Committee declared that any candidate participating in the state run presidential primary would be ineligible to receive any of Nevada’s delegates.

Yes and likely by a large margin, IMO. I get everyone wants to joke about Haley losing to None of these Candidates, but she lost to Trump. Almost everyone voting for None of these Candidates was doing so as a proxy vote for Trump. No one in that party is going to beat Trump in a primary whether his name is actually on the ballot or not.

I wouldn't be surprised if even if he weren't allowed to run a huge chunk of that vote going to write ins. Dems don't love Harris but shed at least get the tepid Hillary Clintonesque support. The point is moot though I suppose. Trump is the candidate.
February 7, 20241 yr Real question is, would Stephanik/Noem/god forbid MTG beat Harris? More likely than Haley.

Hell, even in '28, I'm not sure either of them are realistic.
February 7, 20241 yr If Haley somehow ended up with the nomination I'd at least step back and consider, regardless of whether it was Biden, Harris, or someone else on the other side. There are a half dozen high profile Republicans I'd rather see get the nomination but since the party went fugging nutz it doesn't matter. But while I think Biden actually has a strong record but is piss-poor at marketing his wins, a competent "generic Republican" would be a solid alternative.

The fact that you'd potentially vote for her is exactly why she has no shot. The most important quality to Republicans is that everyone else but the base hates their nominee. It's the dumbest logic you could ever land on when choosing a nominee but that's where they are.

If Trump were to drop dead today... And Haley were to become the nominee, Fox News and the right wing media would get behind her and all the Trumptards would vote as they were told to. When Fox News told them that pointless never ending wars were good, they were all good little war mongers. When Trump and Fox News told them that we should kowtow to dictators and avoid war at all costs, even at the expense of our own nation security, they all became pacifist ****. I'm just not as convinced they'd fall in line if he's still on the sidelines calling her a ho and complaining about the election results if he were to say he barred from the general election. End of the day it's moot though. More just a thought exercise of which female candidate is more hated by her base.

February 7, 20241 yr The no law and disorder squad in the EMB is against the police vote. No surprise there. They support the continued destruction of our cities along with the high rate of violence and murder that goes along with that.
