It's also not just about the apartment complex to me. It's the video from the jewelry store where the lady got beaten as they robbed her or the Ring video of them dressing like utility workers and forcing entry to a house when the person answered the door. If it all gets swept under the rug then changes will never happen. Stories running that it's fake news do try to make it seem like none of it is happening. If they control some of it or all of it I don't care so much as that never should come close to happening on US soil. Same with the other people being targeted by what appears to be the same gang in other parts of the city.

I don't like him, and I hate her. Am I torn on wanting to vote at the top? Yep, but I'm not.

Yeah immigrants are very scary. Meanwhile we kept our kids out of school today because a bunch of backwoods gun nut kids made copycat threats against the ATL schools.

Dude, you're arguing with a very little man who lives for this type of stuff. He's not going to concede a normal point of view on this. Is there a violent gang of Venezuelans that were released into the US by the Biden administration terrorizing this neighborhood, committing violent armed robberies, and extorting tons of tenants from that apartment complex for money? Yes. Have they technically taken over every single apartment in the building and stolen the property deed? No.

So I mean, yeah, the story makes the current admin look extremely negligent, incompetent, and kind of evil regardless of whether or not the gang actually owns the apartment complex now. and that's all that should really matter.

Statistically, your kid has a much better chance of being murdered by diversity than being in a school shooting. But liberals are manipulated by the TV, so a recent school shooting will dominate their consciousness.

I'm so sorry, Van. It's hard trying to explain that to kids. I take care of two who aren't mine, and I won't lie—sometimes, the thought crosses my mind that I hope I see them again when they leave. Not just from that but from idiot drivers or any other number of things that can happen. Every day is a blessing when it doesn't.

Not that it will convince you otherwise, but the mayor is a Republican and apparently did ride alongs with police to each of the three complexes alleged to have gang activity. They interviewed tenants, stationed patrol cars, etc. They found nothing that would indicate venezualan gangs controlled any of the buildings. He's said the gangs are there and are suspects in open investigations and crimes but the reports of anything being "taken over" by them are fabrications. I don't know why a Republican mayor would lie to protect gangs unless you think they have him and local police in their pocket like the mafia or something.

That retort was fairly sad.

He's a drunk, now he's not a drunk........

Maybe he wasn’t a drunk until just recently and now he’s a drunk. You never know. People change.  One day they are Indian, next day they are black. So surely he could he could be a drunk depending on who he’s talking to.  He seems to babble incoherently to the uneducated which makes sense, that crowd is usually drunk too, so it tracks.

By the way, this is why I tell people the 90s were the last era in which to live. People say 9/11 changed things, and it did, obviously, but nothing has been the same since Columbine.

Told you @Diehardfan. Unless they technically "control the building" his sources are correct and yours are wrong. It doesn't matter that they're committing violent armed robberies and terrorizing tenants by extorting money regularly. The just don't technically "control the building." So it's really not that bad when you think about it.

Also, thank you for this. It brings me great comfort to know that if some hillbilly sheetbag shoots up my kids school it’ll be a statistical anomaly.

The clips from the Economic Club speech are terrifying -- he has absolutely no idea what he is talking about on any subject.

As soon as I saw "Economic Club of New York" I asked myself 'who the hell would invite him to New York to speak on economics after being ordered by a judge to pay $355M for decades of fraudulent business practices'?

Must have been organized and attended by sycophants.

lmao have you seen the kids that actually shoot up schools? They definitely aren't typically hillbillies. Van's entire world is shaped by his mental illness and what the tv tells him to fear.

Anyone who doesn't start the discussion on fixing the immigration issue with addressing our asylum laws isn't a serious person. People scream about illegal immigrants, but our insane asylum laws allow anyone to seek asylum protection and have their case determined. Given our massive backlog, these cases languish for years. The truth is someone who has applied for asylum is not an illegal immigrant -- they are an asylum seeker.

Same issue over here

 Dude the kid who just shot up a school an hour away is a hillbilly weirdo.

Got any actual sources on the "tons of tenants" being extorted or does it involve bamboo fibers again?

trump didn't want it in an election year is the correct answer. he wasn't looking at fine print. it was bipartisan...primarily written by a conservative republican. but both sides, i guess.

Funny how we didn't need a bill like this when Trump was in office and the wall was getting built
