Apparently almost 1/3 of them are affording a home if RedFin is accurate. But surprised that Gen X trended behind both Millennials and Boomers. For my own part I admit I did wait to buy, but not because I couldn't afford it. When I started looking in the 2002 timeframe prices were rocketing up, and I thought "this has to pull back." I was wrong of course, and bought a house a few years later closer to the top of the market. 🤷♂️ I only share that because it's possible late Gen X made similar choices, delaying purchasing thinking the market would flatten or pull back. Cheap money and NIMBY fueled a huge home value jump.
