I kept my PA tags for as long as possible when I first moved here, but you see people who live in your area and recognize the cars, especially when you live a bit away from the city, so you notice when it says CA for a long time. You also notice the plate covers that say dealerships in CA, or decals of CA sports teams like the Padres. Again, Lakers I can see, but not many people who aren't from CA put Padres crap on their head or cars.
