Besides her love of dictators and a foreign policy of "Let Russia do whatever the hell they want", she seems to have very little in common with Trump.  The last time I heard any of her policy positions, they were to the left of Bernie Sanders.

Trump has no real policy positions or principles beyond advancing his own self-interest, so it can work.

Trump certainly doesn't care what her policies are and his people will happily eat whatever he feeds them.  He could pick Bernie himself and they'd line up for it.  Honestly, Bernie would probably be a dream ticket for Trump.  It brings in more of the only demo that have switched to Trump in the last few years, the far, far left.

Painful to think but possible. Not they they are admitting it yet. Israel might slow their roll but you know they love themselves some Put-y

She ran on literally taking people's guns last time, I think that would be a deal breaker even among low IQ Trump supporters.

So did Trump ("take the guns first, go through due process second", bump stock ban, etc) and they still voted for him.

The parties have realigned, it's just not completely in focus yet.  It's radicals vs. moderates.  The farthest reaches of the left wants to burn the world down like the farthest reaches of the right.  Conversely, it's why Trump's so toxic in the suburbs and it's only getting worse.  People that have something to live for want nothing to do with him.

If Trump told them he was taking their guns, they'd happily hand them over.

Did the SOTU actually move the needle?

No.  It's all bullsheet.  Polls were meaningless then.  And they're meaningless now.  The pollsters are just trying to justify their pointless existence.

Nothing's ever changed in the race.  Trump barely squeaked by in 2016, got handled in 2020 and has lost significantly more votes than he's gained since then.  Dude's a zombie candidate and has been since day 1.  The broader left will convince themselves that the sky's falling and they're F'd while the broader right will gloat that they've got it in the bag and start measuring for the drapes.  And then Trump will lose because he's a loser who loves to lose.

I agree that it's still way too early to draw an meaningful conclusions, but this is Nate Cohn btw (not Nate Silver).
