February 8, 20241 yr We had a team with great depth that looked like it could beat absolutely anyone if healthy. We traded away a bunch of that depth today. We got worse. Embiid made a bad decision for his long term health. Will be back to play this year, and we got worse instead of improving to help him win a championship.

February 8, 20241 yr funny thing is Morey send out 4 second round picks for Hield, and got 3 back. Furk was useless anyway. Morey got 3 2nd round picks back throughout the day. He is probably so proud of himself for getting Hield for basically 1 2nd round pick and Marcus Morris. Failing to see the bigger picture of all of the locker room value he traded away, and the poor value of his Springer trade.

If you're going to tank and acquire picks, why not trade Harris? I don't get these moves, at all, unless something else fell through.

To name a few.

Now we go in to the summer with unlimited cap space and no free agents to sign, a couple 1st round picks, but no talent to match in trades. No way to really improve from here. I guess we will end up extending Harris, Hield, and Maxey.
February 8, 20241 yr Extending Harris would be absolutely terrible unless he wants to sign for 17-18 mil per year. He was never athletic or fast, doesn't shoot the 3 and is a turtle in the second round of the playoffs. He will only get worse as he gets older.
