Just cause it’s true doesn’t mean you have to say it. The Knicks likely going to play with a chip on their shoulder anyway cause that’s who they are. But now they have Vegas callong them as an underdog in this series. And you have a backup center throwing more fuel to the fire. This is like when our back up catcher stubbs for the Phillies decided to open his mouth and clearly the dbacks heard it and used it as extra motivation.

we all can agree with what he said was true. That doesn’t mean you have to say it out loud.

You are thinking about this too much. It isn’t a big deal at all.

The Phillies didn’t lose because the back up catcher talked smacked. They lost because they went cold.

sixers are gonna crush the knicks...easily.

Have you watched the Knicks this year? With a healthy and in shape Embiid, they could have won in 5. I’m still taking them in 6 but there will be nothing easy about it.

The point is he didn’t need to say it. And the diamondbacks after they won that series said they use that as extra motivation and you could see it in their tweets as well. You don’t need to give the other team any bulletin board material. Whether it’s true or not, doesn’t make an ounce of difference.

It’s a poor excuse for not showing up. The better team won that series.

Yeah it’s like the Sixers can’t match their intensity now all of a sudden.

Who says that’s the only reason. He didn’t have to say it. Again this comes back to you don’t have to open your mouth to give another team bulletin board material.

All Paul Reed had to say is man the Celtics are really good this year. They’ve been the one seed all year. And the Knicks are really good to we are in for a handful. That’s all he had to say. He didn’t have to say well the Knicks are gonna be easier. That’s the dumbest thing you could Say.

This isn’t 7th grade b-ball, it’s the NBA. Paul Reed’s trash talk is gonna make the other team win 4 games. If he didn’t trash talk, we sweep! But because he talked trash, we have no shot!

LOL…. Cool we are making up narratives i didn’t say

where did I say the Sixers have no chance? So now we’re just making a BS narratives. Where did I say the Sixers still couldn’t sweep them? Oh I did not so now we’re making up more BS narratives. What I said was you don’t give another team any bulletin board material especially this time of the year. Also dbacks said they heard Stubbs and were more determined after to not let the Phillies win that series in Az. Phillies playing like crap 100% was a bigger issue. But pretending the dbacks didn’t get extra little motivation from that is BS

If you still think the Sixers are gonna win, what the hell does Paul Reed’s comment have to do with the price of tea in China?

You don’t need to give another team bulletin board material. You don’t need to give a team that already plays with a chip on its shoulder and very tough any other form of motivation. Especially with Thibs as HC

do I think this is gonna ultimately cost the Sixers the series? No. But I do think it’s something he should’ve kept to himself

Madison Square Garden is going to be beyond electric on Saturday, wish I could go to a game like that.

I have to imagine the ticket prices are going to be ridiculous for that game. Sixers need to get at least a split to start this series. If they are somehow down 0-2 i could see a lot of fair weather sixers fans (not saying all fans but the ones who rather sell to make money thinking the series is over) selling their tickets and NY fans buying it.

MSG is such a fun place to see a game.  Even when the Sixers were bottomed out in the tank, the cheapest MSG nosebleed tickets for Sixers-Knicks were over $100 on stubhub but totally worth it.

The only time I’ve been to MSG for a game was when Arizona played in the preseason NIT of college basketball. And it’s an awesome place to watch a game. So I can’t even imagine how crazy for a Philly versus New York playoff game. It feels like it’s been forever since we had a New York Philly NBA playoff game.

The 1st round schedule is conducive to Joel for getting in basketball shape with as many recovery days as possible. He will get 2 days off for 3 of the games. If we can get out of this round healthy, the door will be open for a run….IF we stay healthy.

He looks already not healthy.  More concerning to me than his cardio (I know there were times he was shown resting his hands on his knees) is that there were times they showed him holding both hands on his injured knee, obviously in pain.

Last night he was not just out of shape. He was already hurting.

When that happens, he never seems to get better over time.  Only worse.

You know how I feel about this topic. Prolonging the inevitable. Maybe we get lucky for once and the injury happens when he is in the Olympics and he somehow makes it for a whole playoff run.

He looks slow and gimpy. I bet the brace doesn’t help his mobility. You gotta watch out for the fakeouts with his body language. Obviously he is really injured but he likes to really touch whatever body part is injured a lot. Sometimes he does it after he makes a bad play. The key to knowing if it’s really bothering him or not is to watch him 10-15 seconds after that. He can go from looking like he came back from war to running full speed in a matter of seconds.

Only basketball games will get him in basketball shape. The water treadmill can't do a lot.

Knicks will make him work on both ends especially the defensive end. Can he hold up thru the series will be a question
