Brunson basically head butted Oubre and Batum on two separate plays like that. I don’t see how it’s much different from a charge when the guy is in front of you, or a shooter kicking his leg out in an "unnatural shooting motion” to make contact on a 3. Either way it’s the offensive player going out of his way to initiate the contact. A year or two ago, the NBA said they were going to start officiating that out of the game. As usual, nothing changed.

Yeah now that you mention that I remember that was a thing for a minute, but nothing has changed still. Pretty sure Harden was one of the main culprits that lead to it.

May 3, 20241 yr Author did the officiating come across as f'n turrible on tv? i felt like they got scott fostered all game long but i didn't get the same replays being there live.

It was bad much of the series for everyone. Last night really wasn’t an exception it was more of the norm. Tbh the biggest gripe i have doesn’t just come from this series. Way too many times maxey is driving and he gets absolutely hammered and the officials don’t make the call. I’m fine if you are gonna call it the way you do with Brunson (or Embiid tbh). However if you are gonna give them calls was less contact then at this point maxey should and some of his are definitive fouls.
May 3, 20241 yr I know this pick is 100% being traded, but I kinda like seeing Filipowski at #16 for us. https://tankathon.com/mock_draft

Much better long term fit than Pg if the goal is long term success, definitely ingram. if the goal is getting a dawg to win a championship in the embiid 2-3 year window, butler probably makes the most sense, imo. i guess george would be somewhere in the middle.

The problem with Jimmy Butler is he still has two years left on his contract and wants an extension. The whole reason Miami would be trading him is because he wants that extension and they don’t want to give it to him. So basically you’re gonna get into a Four or five deal with Jimmy Butler at 34. Jimmy Butler is 34 and they didn’t want to give him a five-year extension when he was 29. As great as Jimmy Butler has been in the playoffs for Miami a couple years back, Jimmy Butler has only played over 60 games one time since he left the Sixers and it seems like his body is beginning to break down even more.

May 3, 20241 yr Im afraid Ingram is another Tobi. Coming up small in playoffs. Ive always been a big Ingram fan since the start but the longer he plays, the less I think he is a championship player.

No assurance they’re any better than Tobi during crunch time and in the playoffs. Would PG do a 2-3 year max deal with the 76ers? I’d be much more inclined to go the PG route on a short term, high salary deal.

Tbh i still think PG goes back to the clippers. Unless it’s completely not anywhere close to what magic or Sixers offer. I think the clippers would give him near max money just not a full max so they can have some maneuverability. Imo clippers aren’t opening that new arena with a Kawhi with a bum knee and old ass James harden (assuming he re-signs there). Also i think PG rather play in LA then leave to come back east.

Still think the clippers won’t offer a full max but somewhere close to it. They did similar with kawhi. I don’t see PG leaving LA unless the clippers severely lowball him.

I guess since we are stuck always getting old past their prime guys, its best to see whoever gives us those short deals. Butler, or PG over committing to Ingram and being stuck in another Toby style contract. Itll all fit in to the Embiid window (if there ever was such a thing).
