September 28, 20233 yr I forgot Hield was still available too. If we somehow landed him and Jrue, we might be in business.

September 29, 20233 yr In reality should have just kept Jrue this whole time and never started the process.

I honestly think the process would have been just fine if the NBA didn't interfere and boot Hinkie to the curb......we swung and missed, trade everyone and their mother. The Sixers have become the Flyers. Thank god we have the Phillies and Eagles.

Poor leadership, management and coaching is what did them in, not the process itself. Something as simple as signing Jimmy over Tobi would have likely netted us a championship.

You are hurt, then go ahead and sit out an entire year. His drafting wasn't even special beyond Embiid. Noel and Okafor in back to back drafts. Saric over LaVine.

You draft losers you get a loser organization. Thunder drafted well and now will have to trade a piece to pay them all. Sam has an aura about him but he wasn't special

There were factors at play with his draft choices, such as Porzingis refusing to play here. Okafor was an excellent player who just got caught in the changing of an era. You could say Sam wasnt ahead of the curve enough on that one. I dont think Saric over LaVine is as bad as it sounds today. Saric was a highly scrutinized overseas prospect who was being looked at closely since he was 15. He was seen as a legitimate point forward in the mold of a LaMar Odom. His passing ability never really got utilized much in the NBA. LaVine was an uber athlete with poor BBIQ, not physical enough and didnt get to the FT line enough, and had a funky release. He was an upside guy while Saric looked like a potential Euro star. With all that said, Sam never claimed to be anything more than what youre saying. He admitted that the draft is a crap shoot, and stated thats why you want to increase the number of chances you have.

That was a very interesting tidbit in a recent ramona shelbourne article.

Sam allowing Embiid to sit for 2 years and Simmons for one year all while developing zero culture of winning or signing any vets still has carryover to this day. Embiid is still a baby and doesn't take accountability. Once Embiid is gone you can start the culture over again and with Holiday going to the Celtics the window is shut.
October 1, 20233 yr Not that they were going to do anything this year anyways, but it’s already over for the Sixers lol
