someone on twitter - so take it fwiw - said when something similar happened in Georgia they were able to get it repaired quickly, in about 6 weeks.

they're talking 6 months in Philly.

we'll see if the unions can make an exception to their normal dragging of feet and grifting to allow a repair of the most important road in Philly on a more expedited timeline. or if they just use it as leverage for a cash grab.

Hmmm. I wonder how a tanker truck explodes and catches fire under I-95. Could this be a case of domestic terrorism?

I'm surprised this hasn't been turned into some kind of climate change disaster yet.

Harkens back to the days of the Old Board discussing 9/11 and the conspiracy. It wasn't the planes. LOL. 😀

The critical path is the fabrication of the beams.  The bridge in Atlanta was pre-stressed concrete.  This bridge is steel.  Best bet would be to find a fabricator who’s already in the process of fabricating steel beams that meet the design criteria for this bridge and purchase them (would have to pay a premium to do so as you’re now screwing up someone else’s schedule).  But that’s if this scenario even exists in the first place.

Welcome to Phallujah.

Im truly not sure if this was a pun, a Freudian slip, or if you truly don’t know how to spell Fallujah.

They have to replace both sides of the overpass.

First time seeing this terrible incident. Looks like his speed was too fast coming down the ramp to handle the curve and he crashed. Sad. Also, It looks like the top of the tanker may have struck the bottom of the bridge. Hmm.

What do you pheel the right answer is?

Initially, there were rumblings that there may be a temporary solution to re-connect 95 pending a complete repair.  Haven't heard anything about that of late though.

Since this happened in Philly, the thing going against a fast repair is that so much money will be thrown at this problem, that every special interest group will try to grab their slice of the pie.  Can't do that once it's fixed.  A lot of vested interests in delaying this re-opening as long as possible.

If you all drove EVs this would never have happened. But not everyone can be as progressive and ahead of the curve as me.
