yeah I'm a little surprised at the plan still resulting in reduced lanes. it doesn't seem like a big deal to have the full compliment of lanes. I know that area a little bit, as I used to drive down that way frequently; there should be plenty of space for the backfill.

That's why I wonder if the plan is to initially open back up to full capacity.  Reducing the lanes during construction of the bridge will be necessary in order to expedite completion of the bridge.

Nice - currently only 4 people standing around doing nothing - pretty good!

Just saw this on the livestream.  Not sure what’s going on.

True - they probably ate so much during their previous breaks that they were too uncomfortable to work

Maybe good advice?

"Girder Erection Mega Machine" is the name of @probably's mom's vibrator

Talked with our senior structure PM about the bridge this morning.  They're using a welded wire MSE wall to hold the fill in place for the temporary condition. They're building it in the middle.  So traffic will be shifted to the middle of I-95 so they can build the outside portion of the bridge first.  Then they'll flip traffic to the newly constructed outside portion while they rebuild the middle.

The temporary fill has reached the top of the bridge abutments. Now they're putting on what appear to be the concrete barriers along the edge of the roadway. They are quite tall so looks like rather than placing single face concrete barrier on top of the paving and then pin it into the asphalt, these will instead be keyed in from the adjacent fill/paving. They're working on the Southbound side right now. I hope they change the camera after the Northbound side goes up, otherwise the livestream will be pretty useless until they start doing the bridge construction as the camera will simply be showing a wall. Hopefully they can raise it so we can then watch them complete the fill and paving operation.

Gotta tip my hat to the Gov and PennDOT on this one.  They're on their game.  Nice touch with the live feed.

Now that they're lifting the barriers in place and can get a better view,  they appear to be moment slabs.  They have an interesting shape to them though.

Two had white hats on and there were a few more white hats walking around. They will make things go faster. Lol
