Will see if weather may delay things.  News said the asphalt needs 12 hrs. to set.  Starting tonight we are in for unsettled weather with periods of rain every day for the next 10 days!  Better break out some big tarps.

They're setting the southbound moment slabs this morning.  They've changed camera angle to an overhead view so you can get a better view of what's going on.

Overhead views are my favorite.

Wait, what are we talking about here?

Moment slabs on the SB side are set.   So now both the NB and SB moment slabs are in.  They're leveling out a base course right now on the SB side.  Hard to tell if it's the subbase or aggregate base course.

I know some of those words

I wish we could livestream every piece of construction that happens on that highway.

They set the median barrier and finished paving last night.  Pretty much done now.  Amazing job.

Supposed to reopen this weekend.

Kudos!

Read where Shapiro ordered that road dryers be brought in from Pocono speedway so they can paint lines on the new lanes.

i'd like to watch that turnpike widening project that will probably cost 100 billion $$$.

Great job by Biden, Shapiro, and the Union Workers.

Wow I haven't looked at the repairs yet but that's pretty small. How many lanes is that supposed to be? It thought they were doing 3 lanes or something?

No shoulders - that's all for traffic

yeah I get it would be tight, I just read though it's supposed to be 6 lanes total .. but that image doesn't look like 3 lanes on either side:

I mean, I can see three sedans fitting in that space but man it's gonna be tight.

i read that it used to be 4 lanes in each direction...each 12'wide...and the temporary fix will be 3 10' wide lanes in each direction.

Could you imagine a big tractor trailer squeezing into one of those lanes.  Still better than having it closed down.

Yes, 3 lanes each direction.

well, better than nothing, but definitely gonna see backups.. hopefully it's up to the challenge of big-ass tractor trailing sitting on it in traffic

I give it 2 hours MAX once it's opened up until there's a wreck there or close to there

It's no different than the staging that was used when they built the bridge back in 2012.   3 lanes in each direction back then as well.

My apologies, I may have spoken too soon.  Looks like they were doing some more paving today.  They may have just put up to the binder course last night and were doing the wearing surface course today.  Hard to tell from how far out the camera is if they've paved up to the final surface yet.

Ugh, I can't trust you anymore.

Lol

Nascar to the rescue! Love that they also sent the pace car from Pocono raceway.  LOL  -Great job, will be open for traffic today!

Philly's collapsed I-95 bridge is set to reopen in record time thanks to NASCAR

11' wide....not 10'. a little better considering tractor trailers are usually around 8.5' wide.
