From a Cowboy fan...

Cowboys next two are very winnable games, after that they have five challenging games:

Seattle, Eagles, Bills, Dolphins, and Lions...Bills and Dolphins are road games.

I fully expect the Cowboys to lose 2 of those games and they will likely finish the season at 12-5. They will be lucky to host a home WC game...the Eagles just need to handle business, they don't need help, you guys need to see the glass way more than half full...the Eagles are in the drivers seat no matter the schedule.

I think the Commanders may be a bit of a challenge for them.  Howell has continued to play pretty well.  I think it's a game the Cowboys should win but it is a division game. I don't see any game on the Cowboys schedule that they couldn't win.  I think the Dolphins and Lions are the 2 most talented teams left they will face.

I think there was a question of longevity after the 2018 season.  There are only 48 o-linemen in the NFL HOF.  The HOF centers are:

1. Chuck Bednarik 49-62 - 14 seasons

2. Dermontti Dawson 88-00 - 13 seasons

3. Frank Gatski - 46 -57 - 12 seasons

4. Jim Langer 70 -81  12 seasons

5. Kevin Mawae 94-09 16 seasons

6. Jim Otto 60-74 15 seasons

7. Jim Ringo - 53-67 15 seasons

8. Dwight Stephenson - 80-87 8 seasons

9. Mike Wesbster 74-90 - 17 seasons

As of 2018, he only had completed 8 seasons.  I think it wasn't a sure thing at that point.  He is probably a sure thing as of now but I don't know that he will be a first ballot HOF player.  I think he should be but he's not a sure thing first ballot HOF player.  Getting an AP and a PB this season would help.

The best thing to help Kelce's case, rightly or wrongly, is SB LII.     Getting back to the Super Bowl helps a little, but not as much as winning it.  If he gets another SB, then I think he becomes a lock for a first ballot.  Other than that, I think he has to wait a year.   Helping him though is his personality... again rightly or wrongly, voters will vote for players they like more than players they don't.

It was against a bad pass defense

True, but when the Eagles need to make defensive plays they make them, against a good offense look at the goal line stands they had. My rebuttal was simply that the Eagles aren't a bad team. I also realize that until Dak puts up big numbers against good teams regularly he will not be respected.

Midway point polling:

1. Who gets more catches the rest of the way out of the following players: Olamide, Julio, Quez?

2. Does Rashaad Penny get a bigger role in the second half of the season?

3. If you could go back in time and swap Nolan Smith for Joey Porter Jr, would you?

4. Does Swift have more rushing yards in the second half of the season than he did in the first half?

5. If you could take a 13-4 record right now, would you take it or no?

Julio

Honestly no idea. The way they've handled the RBs is strange as hell

No

No but wouldn't shock me if they basically stored him for the playoffs or games for seeding

It's possible they go on a winning streak the rest of the way

I think it's likely Julio.

2. Does Rashaad Penny get a bigger role in the second half of the season?

He's had like 4 carries so far.  I can't see him having a smaller role.

3. If you could go back in time and swap Nolan Smith for Joey Porter Jr, would you?

No, Joey Porter Jr, is an outside CB.  He could not play the slot.  I think he would be on the bench much like Ringo is on the bench.  Nolan has flashed at times and deserves a bigger role in the defense.

4. Does Swift have more rushing yards in the second half of the season than he did in the first half?

Yes - I think it's close but he will get utilized more as the season moves on and they adjust the running game away from read options.

5. If you could take a 13-4 record right now, would you take it or no?

To be honest, going 2-3 over the next 5 games would be disappointing.  I am not sure that record gets them HFA.

I don't think any game is a certain win, especially a division game. The thing that sticks out to me is the Commanders just traded away two big pieces of their defense and it is a home game, the Cowboys have played extremely well at home going 12-1 in the last 13 games. That said the game is on Thanksgiving and I have seen them $hit the bed many times on Thanksgiving...losing in '19, '20, and '21 most recently...I expect some craziness late in the 4th qtr. How the Commanders lost to the Giants a few weeks ago is just dumbfounding...the Giants are just bad this year.

I can’t believe the Giants have a beeline for Caleb Williams. Really don’t want to deal with that guy for the next 10-15 years.

I remember saying this about RGIII....and everyone else...at the end of the day Caleb has to show he can do it in the NFL. Because so far the "Chosen ones" like Trevor Lawrence, Justin Herbert, etc. don't really scare me. Not like Mahomes who no one even saw coming.

One thing I can say about Dallas is at least they destroy bad teams like the Giants and Jets.  I'd like to see the Eagles do the same to the Giants instead of winning 28-17.

If the Turds can destroy bad teams we should be able to do the same.

Its weird. They destroy bad teams but get destroyed by the NFC West lol.

There's no question that he will make it to a ballot.

Nice with a bye but now I'm ready for a game

Still no Boston Scott update?

This is wild.

Definitely makes the ballot, with another SB win he'll be in the HOF IMO.

Really puts a spotlight on how these great prospects need to go to a good organization to thrive IMO

Julio

Yes.  It's hard to have less

3. If you could go back in time and swap Nolan Smith for Joey Porter Jr, would you?
Too early to say

4. Does Swift have more rushing yards in the second half of the season than he did in the first half?
No. Very likely 1-2 weeks at the end our B team plays

5. If you could take a 13-4 record right now, would you take it or no?
Yes.  If two of the 13 is vs San Fran and a second win vs Dallas 100% no brainer,

Awesome. He'll go to another contender before he makes it to the Eagles. 49ers already have a claim in.

I hope he goes there. He's not built for it. Williams in NYC would implode.

No. JPJ would not be starting in the slot. Nolan Smith was always going to need a year of development as a pass-rusher since he has poor hand usage.

4. Does Swift have more rushing yards in the second half of the season than he did in the first half?
No. More Kenny G

5. If you could take a 13-4 record right now, would you take it or no?
100%. 13-4 likely means HFA. Just need 1 Dallas loss + 2 Lions losses.

1) Julio

2) No

3) No. pass rushers are more valuable than corners and Porter would not be a starter in the short term.

4) No

5) No. I think we can win 14 games.

I think he will be fine. I get daboll looks awful right now. I don’t think he’s nearly as bad if you gave him a competent Qb better than Daniel jones. but he did get the best anyone was ever gonna get out of Daniel jones. And he worked wonders Josh allen when everyone thought he was original Daniel jones with a better arm. Don’t think you can win with devito. Frankly that kid shouldn’t be on the roster.  Right now i think the giants realize jones can’t get them where they want and they suck, so might as well go all in to get high enough to get Williams, maye or penix or whomever.

as for Caleb himself, if Lincoln Riley could just get himself an average defense that USC team is probably playing for a chance at the playoffs. That’s how bad their defense has been all year. USC has given  34 points or more in the last seven games. ASU who’s bad on offense manage yo score 28 points before that 7 stretch. They are not just bad. They are Fing atrocious on D

HOF is almost guaranteed for Kelce as it is. He has the pedigree with all-pro and pro bowl selections.

The bigger question is how long it takes him to get in.

What? You think he lacks the emotional toughness?

Eh I’ve seen TJ McConnell cry with his family and coach Sean Miller after being eliminated by Wisconsin. the dude is tough as nails. I don’t like seeing him cry with his mom, but I’m not gonna hold that against him because I’ve seen some players go through the University of Arizona cry and wind up being good/great at the next level

Let me just point out, his offense is averaging 43.2 points per game. They have lost four games because their defense has given up 43 ppg over their last 7. Cal, asu and Wazzu have worse defensive talent then usc and yet somehow still somewhat better on D than usc. I would be frustrated as F too. He cried I probably would’ve went off on everybody in the defensive room and Riley for not being just competent

I really have less issues with him crying. I’ve seen enough athletes do it. Embiid did it after the raptors game and then went on to win an mvp. William could’ve given up playing after they lost to Utah about four weeks ago and said nothing left to do and not putting my health on the line when I’m the top pick. they knew they weren’t going to the playoffs as soon as that happened. Heisman chase was over too. We’ve seen stuff like that. instead he still out there busting his ass trying to win games with a defense that has no chance. Like I respect the hell out of him for still going out there and playing with really nothing to play for that’s to his advantage. There’s no playoffs. There’s no Heisman. All it is is that he wants to win with the team and keep playing. Granted do think he likely sits out the bowl game which that close to draft i get it more
