For all the whining the 9ers did, they were right. This whole year feels like one big Fing lie. Enough to make me want to start drinking again. 😞

They werent right. Last years eagles team was far better than their team was. They were never right.

Does anyone know if they left Johnson in Seattle? 😂

Hate to say it but this whole scheme is analytics driven with orders coming from up stairs. I'm certain of it. They love the long ball. Live or die by it and right now they're dying by it. The analytics are catching up. Bring another guy in we likely see more of the same if Siri still has his hand in the cookie jar.

That seemed to work in past seasons (All the way to the Super Bowl last year)  - no idea why they’ve gotten away from that concept this season.

NFL defenses adjust.  What Hurts does is not indefensible.  He has to adjust and get better.

I’ve been saying this ad nauseam around here.  Quez is fast but he’s not great at tracking the ball and going up and getting it.  His strengths are getting the ball in stride on intermediate routes then using his speed for YAC.

When was the last time Quez caught a contested ball that was thrown 40-50 yards in the air?

Quez is freaking awful! Like that guy needs to be cut. They should never have brought him back from IR. It made no sense at the time and it looks even dumber now.

Does anyone ever ask the coaches why Penny never plays?

Yes and the answer is always "because he’s RB4”

Yeah last year we were the 9ers this year. The team was loaded on both sides of the ball. Hell the 9ers even have one of our best players from last year now. Washington also gifted them a pass rusher. Totally different teams not comparable

Qb1 has had 1 passing td the last 3 games. MVP numbers right there

Meh, different team and different players. Between Steichen, the linebackers, and the overall offense, last season’s team was very good and probably still win that game if Purdy doesn’t get hurt. They beat down SF’s defense.

So you mean demote BJ? 😊

lol, well if it helps Hurts with decision making, read progression, etc. yes. Take away all the other stuff he’s doing since moving to OC and focus on the largest investment the team has made.

That’s BS. This years team isn’t last years team. Which is an issue people try to use last year as if they are just going to be last years team cause they brought a lot of guys back on offense.

steichen is a better OC then Johnson. Sadly Gannon was a better Dc than desai and Patricia. It’s a low bar.

the eagles lost a ton of talent on defense. Lost hargrave, suh, Joseph, Epps, CJGJ, Edwards, white. In that group that’s 5 of your top 5 tacklers and 5 starters. You replaced them with jalen Carter, Sydney brown, byard/edmunds/Evans, Cunningham, Leonard and morrow. Add on don’t have maddox and the solution was Bradley Roby who was on the streets. The defense is completely different in terms of talent at safety, linebacker and depth along the DLine that made them great. Add on regression by bradberry  from last year. He was legitimately good in 2022. But like most of his career one year good and next year bad

haven’t even mentioned on offense losing seumalo who’s was vastly underrated by the a lot of people. Or the niners adding a pro bowl talent at DT in hargrave was a massive addition for them

I hate to say it, but I can see us probably droppinjg at least 1 of these remaining games.  We should win them all easily, but this team looks terrible.  We're in the playoffs, but we will be a low seed and probably get bounced in the first round.

Cutting Bradberry and designating him post June 1 is gonna cost $17M in dead cap over ‘24-25.

Howie blew it pretty bad there.

People rave about Hurts’ goalline TDs but he’s really just a TD merchant down there. Similar to a goalline back. A majority of those would be had by Swift/Gainwell if they actually gave it to the RB. TDs are TDs and you can’t take them away from Hurts, but that’s an inflated stat.

Gannon is gonna gut us. Pew-pew.

Yeah they physical pounded the 9ers all around bully style.

He also blew it at linebacker. With how edwards has played for the bears that contract looks pretty damn reasonable.

It might be inflated, but there’s a ton of value in knowing that barring a fumble or false start it’s an automatic TD.

He can be really good when used correctly.

Go to 2:00 and 2:30 in this video:

Those are the type of plays Quez can excel at in the NFL.  (He had some nice contested catches in that highlight video but those were against lesser tiered college CB’s - he’s not getting those plays in the NFL)

The plays he can get are the ones at 2:00 and 2:30 when he gets open on shorter and intermediate routes, gets the ball in stride and then uses his speed to take off and get a ton of yards after the catch.

Start with those types of plays, get his confidence up then go from there.

you never see hurts on the bench looking at his tablet to see where he f'ed up. just sits there looking like he would rather be somewhere else,  does he even enjoy playing football?

Hurts' stats across the board are average at best.  65.7% completions, 19 TD and 12 INT, a career low yards per completion, a career low yards per carry.  Add in the 8 fumbles and he's having a dreadful season with ball security.

Add in the fact Hurts is the QB of a top 5 offense in talent level, and it's just plain troubling.  That's before you start thinking about the $255M commitment.  He needs hard coaching right now; he's been dragging the offense down for the past 5-6 weeks.  His comeback against the Bills seems a long, long way off at this point.

The Eagles lost last night to a team on a 4-game losing streak with a losing overall record who played with Drew Lock at QB -- and Drew Lock outplayed Jalen Hurts.  The Eagles are paying $51M per season to a QB who is getting outplayed by Drew Lock.  Hurts is good at QB sneaks right now; he's not much good at any other part of the playbook.

The eagles offense, even in its best form last year has been predictable. Its strength was that it was unstoppable. The defense knows exactly whats coming, but its designed to take advantage of the numbers on any section of the field. Or, to put a particular defender in conflict and attach whichever decision he makes with the other option.

You think defenses last year didnt know, RPO. RPO. RPO. RPO. Read option. Read option. RPO. RPO. RPO. In the run game, outside zone. outside zone. outside zone.... Yes they knew. The eagles ran the ball when the numbers were advantageous. If it was left, and the numbers looked better on the right, theyd switch sides at the line and run it to the right. If something changed pre-snap and suddenly it was better to pass, theyd pass.

This year its the same exact thing. You think every team in the league didnt know Hurts is going to run it himself on 3rd downs in the red zone? Yes. They all knew. Last year we beat them doing it anyway. This year, hes a different player. Hes been indecisive, or often makes the wrong decision. So suddenly, its not unstoppable. When its predictable by design, and stops being unstoppable you have issues.

As long as Hurts is QB you cant fix the predictability of the offense. Its the simplified offense that he has to run. The only thing they can hope to fix is how unstoppable it is. That lives and dies by his decision making.

Even White was looking really good in Arizona before getting hurt.

Yeah, probably should have just given CJGJ what he wanted.

Hopefully we can bench Leonard when Cunningham is back. He’s completely cooked. I have a bad feeling Nick or Howie promised him playing time to get him to sign here.

A lot of them were situations where receivers come up just short of having a TD. So I would say not so inflated. No guarantees Swift and Gainwell get in. The shove success rate is damn near a guarantee and that is largely attributed to Hurts
