I want to point out here that this is kind of a bad way to think about it. Outlet is nice and all, but it really shouldn't be your only method of throwing short.

Of course not...  but the team/QB shouldn't be averse to it either.

I disagree, he was a great crossing route receiver short to mid range in college...maybe he can't do it against pros...idk, I just really feel like PHI could use some short passing game similar to KC, SF, and Miami, might even simplify some things for Hurts also.

This has all gotten so bad now I think the locker room is divided.  You could see Kelce shaking his head in disgust on the sidelines last night and players are starting to come out and point fingers on social media.  Starting to feel like the year Andy got run out.  He lost the locker room and management decided it was irretrievable under his leadership.

Kelce needs to take a hiatus from the podcast and focus on playing mistake-free football.

There, it's been said.

He can't catch.

I'm not going anywhere.  Bleed green for life.  Just tired of watching a coaching staff and players that have not only not improved but consistently regressed throughout the season. Not worth the space in my head worrying about a team with no commitment to real change and accountability

Quez is a liability on the field. In a few weeks he won't be our problem anymore. Time to move on.

I dont think you guys understand how play calls work. No one says he has to throw that ball to Brown when that play is called. Its supposed to be the first read. NOT the Only read.

QB has to see single high before snape and be thinking deep shot. After the snap when he sees oh crap thats well covered, he has to know the crosser is going to be wide open underneath. And take it.

No, I understand play calls just fine. What I also understand is that when making reads, coaches will later evaluate whether you executed the play properly. No one says he HAS to throw it if it's covered, duh. Plays have progressions, which is obviously demonstrated by the QB moving his eyes and/or head between them in a series on plays. What I'm saying is, if it's determined that someone is 'NFL open' relative to what they're known for being able to take, then QBs can get in trouble for not throwing it depending on the head coach.

Sirianni is NOT likely to be this kind of head coach, but there's almost certainly been people in the league like this as coaches.

My comment was ONLY referring to the fact that it is not the QB alone that determines whether a route should have been thrown - but rather the film, subject to evaluation by the coaching staff. Players play but coaches are in charge.

Are people on the board just not very knowledgeable? Coordinators in the booth is not new either. Additionally, the defense fixed most of the issues people have been whining about all year - you saw tighter coverage calls, more man, etc. In fact it worked really well for most of the DBs coverage wise, the one it didn't work for though was Bradberry, because he sucks and has sucked all year. There was basically one big head scratcher call - cover 1 robber at the end. Other than that, defense was pretty serviceable schematically.

Bradberry can't cover, Sydney Brown can't tackle, and Cover 1 at the end was a bad decision. That's more or less the list of bad for the defense yesterday.

I think you forgot the fact that our vaunted D-line gets little to no pressure the past month +

Feels right based on my gut watching live except for Morrow.

OK, OK, OK...after many countering arguments, I withdraw any previous defense of said receiver that I will not mention again. Seriously, you guys know him much better than I do. I am looking for some positive energy here, he obviously is not it. I have been converted.

Having a degree (which I and others on this board also have, including Master's) doesn't negate that someone can still be dumb in other areas. If I need to explain that to you, you're already out of your element.

He didn't want to throw there because he wanted to force a ball to his BFF, but he also never even bothered to look.

Atleast you know you’re not excluded from the conversation when it comes to being "stupid.” Now, since we have all seen him as a rookie, and first year starter scan the field, read defenses, and spread the ball around…I will take being "stupid” and UNable to do so off the table. And find people who loosely jump to calling other people stupid so freely…questionable.

I was specifically mentioning the issues the board was most keen on, and 'CB coverage too soft' was a big one. I did notice, but felt like that was a whole can of worms I didn't want to deal with.

If he's the first read and encouraged to throw it up to these guys if it seems they are single covered ... that's what's being done. That's how THIS offense works. This is how the offense has worked since last year.

I take it you haven't watched much of the team over the past few seasons. He showed those abilities last season. He didn't as a rookie. He didn't in his first season ala "he can't read" and has been terrible at it this year.

Until he shows last year wasn't an aberration, his flaws are exactly as they were in college. The data is there. We have years of evidence showing us he can't read a defense, locks on, leaves the pocket, etc.
