This is correct. Their short passing game is non-existent, that's literally all the 49ers did. Keep Hurts in the pocket, blanket intermediate and deep, leave the short game wide ass open.

And they're not going to change. If they haven't changed the approach by now not going to happen

It was a poorly thrown ball and the ref totally missed the PI. Worst possible outcome.

Anything thrown to Quez usually turns out to be a negative play. I already assumed when i saw it was going to quez we were doomed.

Who is my mvp, diq riding hater? Mr mindreader.😏

Hater?

What's there to hate on? Him being a turnover machine? Targeting the same 3 guys? Not being able to read a defense? Abandoning well protected pockets? He's still in the MVP conversation tho...

OK, OK, OK...after many countering arguments, I withdraw any previous defense of said receiver that I will not mention again. Seriously, you guys know him much better than I do. I am looking for some positive energy here, he obviously is not it. I have been converted.

.  You should have been here when we had Nelson Agholor or Jalen Reagor.

And yes, Agholor and Reagor are both still in the league, both of them are disappointing the teams that they are with now for how poorly they do things.  Agholor was much better than either Reagor or Watkins by a wide margin, but still wasn't a guy to be counted on.

Are people on the board just not very knowledgeable? Coordinators in the booth is not new either. Additionally, the defense fixed most of the issues people have been whining about all year - you saw tighter coverage calls, more man, etc. In fact it worked really well for most of the DBs coverage wise, the one it didn't work for though was Bradberry, because he sucks and has sucked all year. There was basically one big head scratcher call - cover 1 robber at the end. Other than that, defense was pretty serviceable schematically.

Bradberry can't cover, Sydney Brown can't tackle, and Cover 1 at the end was a bad decision. That's more or less the list of bad for the defense yesterday.

Well, when I was at school, I was always told that there are never any stupid questions...only stupid answers...I am so pleased for you that you know absolutely everything there is to know about football...maybe one day we can have an in depth discussion about aviation physics (my job), and we can see how stupid you are at that topic...

Living abroad, my knowledge of American Football is obviously not as in depth as someone who has grown up with it, so apologies for being a bit stupid and trying to better understanding...

The one stat I can't get over that stands out to me more than any other. The Eagles have a worse point differential than the Vikings.

So indicative of a total fraud of a team. I don't want to hear about the schedule either, we're way beyond that point when you lose a game like last night.

That was his first target too. Why throw it to him at all? At this point Z or Julio would be better options. At least they catch it or can block. Watkins has been a total waste. And yet all we heard during the offseason was wait and see. He’s going to turn a lot of heads…. riiiiiight

41 passer rating when targeted

fair.

You know it’s bad when slay and brown go onto social media looking to pick fights. This team is in a world of trouble.

They had a tough schedule:)

Only a penalty if he would have hit him high. Set the tone and blow his ass up. He wasn't catching that one in that position.

Id like to think that but the league is so soft and the areas in which one can hit a target is so limited that DBs across the league are hesitant to hit a receiver at the catch point.

Back in the day metcalfe gets killed on that, it was a lolipop, he caught it almost sitting on his ass, sydney isnt the longest guy but gotta go up and challenge that catch at its high point, not jump and wait for it to fall into your basket.

Having said that sick if watching brafberry be totally lost with the ball in the air

Woke up in a foul Fing mood this AM, this made me chuckle though

Turnover differential is bad as well. You are t going to win many games when you constantly give the ball up and you are always in close games.

Forget point differential...just use the eye test.

So what exactly was Desai's job last night? The commentators said he is still the DC, he was just put upstairs...was he calling plays and just sending them down to Patricia? Was he maybe just calling defensive play "schemes" and sending those down to Patricia...

It just seems a very strange thing to not have your DC on the field. Did Siriani think Desai might see the field better from above and call better pays? All very weird...and obviously, whatever they did, and however they split defensive duties, it simply didn't work!

Definitely very weird.   I don't know of a precedent of a DC being replaced, but not fired midseason.

No idea what Desai was doing up there.   Maybe just playing games on his phone.   But, the calls were Patricia's to make.   Desai could 'offer advice', similar to how (supposedly) Patricia was offering counsel to Desai before this week.

But, being in the box as a DC or OC is normal.  Some prefer that, others prefer to be on the field.   Dan Quinn is in the box as the Cowboys' DC.  But, Jim Johnson would have to have been hogtied and drug up there against his will to call a game from the box.  To each their own with regards to the box vs field placement of the coordinators.

Tbf, Lord Brunson is a ****

This team is going to look alot different next year. We likely see new coordinators, maybe a new HC, and the roster is going to turn over big time.

Who? Sounds like you keep Hurts diq on your brain. You must want the dude or want to be the dude or something. You said "my mvp” …you must assumed it was Hurts cause it sounds like you’re talking about Hurts, AGAIN, like it seems you always do…or QB1 or whatever the F nonsense you call yaself saying. That man ain’t gonna F you…he don’t seem like he into that. Get of his diq

Not saying Julio is good but he’s a better option than Watkins. At least he catches it. I’d prefer OZ though. He at least can block and make occasional tough grab.
