There you go with the deek again. He'll fumble if he tries throwing a stiff arm

🤔that is obviously what is on your mind…why can’t you let him go…why must you try sharing that with others?

Yeah.  That's how it feels.  No hopes for the playoffs and a bunch of aging vets are going to force a step back next year, not a bunch of ascending young players.   I honestly think I'd rather be the Green Bay Packers, right now.  Feels like they have some sort of future ahead of them.   And for THIS postseason, I'd rather be the Cleveland Browns, even with Joe Freaking Flacco at QB.   Yes, its emotionalism getting the best of me... but that's what this team has done to a perennial optimist.   I can no hope for anything in the postseason, I know a blowout is coming to end the season, the only question left is which team puts it to us.

And, I have virtually no hope for next year.   I expect Kelce to retire, and his backup can't stay healthy.  With Kelce retiring, I question whether Johnson wants to return or not.  Bradberry is terrible, but the contract that Howie handed him ties our hands a bit.   Slay has regressed significantly and is now going public with petulant nonsense rather than focusing on his own issues, and they are forced to bring him back at an exorbitant cost compared to his actual value.   Cox and Graham will be leaving and despite the massive investments at DL, the cupboard behind them is relatively thin.  We have Carter and Davis.  Who knows what will happen with Williams?  Can they afford to bring him back?   Reddick is a year older, and wants more money.   But throwing big money at aging players is what's causing some of this trouble right now and why they couldn't afford decent LBs or another S.  And to top it all off, our QB is regressing while his salary number is rising.

I am just depressed about this team.

Sure, sky is falling post.  Here is another take.

Mailata/Dickerson are two pro bowlers entering the peak of their careers.  Next year's center will be a sizable drop but he will still be a very solid young player and the RG has every chance to develop and be solid in his 2nd year.  Lane may retire which would leave a big hole but that can be addressed in the draft. The TE and top two WRs are excellent and still in the their prime.  Howie has already proven that RBs can be mainly plug and play.  Hurts does plenty of things at an elite level but his flaws don't necessarily need to be fatal.  The DL needs some real additions but the Davis/Carter/Sweat trio is a good start.  The special teams are fine.  The big holes are LB and DB.  Some pretty big holes on D but quite a bit to build on.

Sounds like your confused. Hopefully you figure out what you like. You can always switch genders if you're unsure

I remember that, and that was much more about the defender being completely lost than the call.  He somehow got himself turned around and the throw went right behind him.   I forget who it was.   Definitely a most forgettable S, I think.

It was Corey Graham wasn't it?

Neither team is going into SF and even being competitive, so it doesn't matter. The only way SF isn't in the Super Bowl is if they have a massive letdown.

Please have a massive letdown

i will be fine picking 2 DB's and a LB with the first 3 picks.( 1st and 2 seconds)  Core of the O is there.

btw - I can remember a couple of times when a backup took the opposing underdog team the length of the field to upset the Eagles.  Those were some of the toughest losses.

How many of these 11 (12) on defense will be on the roster in 2024?  My guess:

Cox, Graham, Reddick, Sweat

Cunningham, Morrow, Dean

Slay, Bradberry, Maddox, Byard, Blankenship

Slay, Maddox, and Dean IMO should not be starters, but I can't see how the Eagles get away from them in 2024.  That leaves:

EDGE -- Reddick, Sweat, Nolan Smith, ??? (Need a true DE)

DT -- Carter, Davis, Williams, ???

LB -- ????????? (Dean for sure, I guess)

CB -- Slay, ??? (Ricks/Ringo)

S -- Blankenship, Brown, ??? (Draft somebody early Howie, FFS)

Need some better run defenders as well.  Lots of needs on defense, again.  Feels like I say that before every draft.

Graham and Cox will be back if they want to. Might as well just accept it now.

RT is a need. You can argue DE will be one as well. I like Ringo. He'll have 3 more regular season games to earn that starting spot

A far worse fate would be to end the year losing at home to the Packers or the Rams in a game we seem to give away.

They are fine if they are limited to 20 snaps a game.  I think they could do one more year at that level.

I wasn't a fan of bringing Cox back this year, but he's been good. I can't imagine how the D-line would look right now without him.

I just see no way they aren't Eagles unless they retire.

Hes played surprisingly well this year, playing with Carter and Davis has seemed to rejuvenate him.

I mean Driscoll started against the Bills on short time and did just fine.  Develop him.  Maybe Steen can play RG when Jurgens moves to C.  They can be serviceable.  The back 7 of the D is in shambles.  Keep Ringo, Brown and Reed and get rid of everyone else.  Put some premium draft capital on DB and LB's.

Even if the Eagles come out in the final 3 games and smash them in blowouts and the offense is great again it's going to be like... the opponents suck who cares. But also even if they make changes to correct some things it's like why did it take so long to make change.

Should really be a 5 game skid. Maybe 6 if Dallas didn't blow it themselves.

And there are other games that you look back on and realise it could have gone very differently. The first Washington game. The Pats, Vikings and Miami all had chances. And look I know that’s the way things go sometimes but this team really hasn’t handled anyone this year. Good teams win when they don’t play well but good teams also play well.

He also really stepped us as a leader and Captain. He seems to have matured a lot over the past 3 or so years.

Pretty sure that drafted Steen as the future RG. Driscoll doesn't have the arm length to be consistent at RT. RT is a need imo. Lane might have 2 years left

Agreed. He'll stay fresh rotating as a backup

I dont Trust Driscoll as a starter to be able to hold up for a 17 game season physically or mentally.

Dude is soft glass ...
