We're always miserable.   Its our nature.

Reminds me of that Chip Kelly quote

It’ll be interesting to see if Sirianni’s comment about trying to draw a PI works against him as refs decide to swallow the whistle on iffy calls.

0.5 PPR; 2 of 3: Puka, DK, or Rashee Rice?

Probably, but we didn't get that call when it should have been (Love INT) and we got it when it was a normal pass play (Bradberry).

Refs are more incompetent than malicious.

Which Love interception? To Quez? That would have been a really weak and undeserved flag.

The Eagles never get those calls anyways.  The Niners bear hugged AJ all game in the endzone and nada.  But if our secondary dares to touch the opposing WR that laundry is flying 🤦‍♂️

It's not hate.  It is criticism.   It seems that folks don't know the difference.  Criticism, in and of itself, does not constitute hate.   My wife criticized my choice of clothing, does that mean she hates me?   No.  It means she thinks that I shouldn't wear jeans to a particular event, it is a wrong decision.   Not hate.  Criticism.  And I appreciate her for it.

Now, how does that relate to Sirianni?   He's giving moronic answers regarding what happened and why they called a particular play.   Give foolish answers, get called out on it.  That's not hate, that's accountability.  And this team supposedly thrives on its ability to hold itself accountable.

And this team DESERVES to be criticized.   They've lost 3 straight games.  They've looked bad doing it in each of the 3.   People gave them the benefit of the doubt, mostly, for the first 2 because of 'the gauntlet', and the 'extra rest', etc.   Well, no more excuses.  Time to be accountable.

Yeah I get it and I’m as frustrated as anyone else but at the end of the day it’s basically "coach speak”.  He’s not going to throw people under the bus.  But my gut feeling is that he’s probably singing a different tune internally, among coaches, players, etc.  Just a guess.

I would definitely go Puka, and maybe Rice. DK is the best player of the 3 but he is wildly inconsistent

Nah, Love grabbed his jersey and pulled him down as he went up for the ball.  At some point these WRs are going to need to learn how to draw PI. Opposing team's throw the hands up in the air and get the calls.

They already ruined mine. They are dead in the water.

We got a really bad one against Dallas where Gilmore did nothing to affect AJB.

He tugged his jersey.

I do agree with you that I don't want that called, but they called an even weaker one on Metcalf that was on 4th down...

There is coach speak, and then there is admitting that you were hoping for a flag to bail you out.   That's a stupid cover story.  And I've never heard another coach ever say that they called a play, with the primary hope being to draw a flag.

There's a lot of other 'coach speak' options he could have chosen... and of course, there's also the truth.  He could have gone there.   What he chose was the answer that was going to draw the most ire.  And maybe, that's calculated so that the ire is directed at him for that statement, rather than the players.   If that is his intention, kudos.  But I don't think he's playing 4D chess like that.

Well said. One of the biggest problems in todays society is that criticism and disagreement are both now viewed as hate.

Yeah that quote did jump out at me.  We know coaches probably use plays like that with the possibility of a PI call as leverage  (if the play itself doesn’t work) but that’s the first time I’ve heard a head coach say it was intended solely for that purpose.

I think it was pretty weak and would have been ticky tack at best. The slow motion replay makes it seems worse than it is. Quez didn't even fall to the ground and he's soft as Charmin, he just ran out of the end zone.

Really wanted a reporter to ask him why he didn’t fight more for it and quez to be like "for who, for what?”

Yea, Sirianni makes it more unnecessarily difficult than it needs to be. Just say "we liked the pre-snap matchup but the safety made a heck of a play". And move on.

Reporters wanted to talk to him but he declined all interviews after the game. He is soooooooft.

I agree.  Actually throughout the year he's said too much or dumb things.  He needs to just give pat answers.  He's emotional and gets pissy and wants to get snarky back at reporters at times.  He could simply say "we're trying hard to make plays to win the game" or something.

It's also dumb that they make the coaches and players do so many press conferences.  They should be preparing for the game not talking to the media that much.  Even more reason to give short, coach speak answers and move on.

Thanks! That's one of the tougher dilemmas I've had in FF in a number of years.
