Damn, you know it's been a rough few weeks at Novacare when even afan is throwing shade at the coaches.

I'm a patient guy, but I haven't seen any adjustments in a month. At some point you have to be honest with yourself and accept what was working ain't working no more and make changes.

Which is the fault of the coaches.Hurts has become an accurate thrower who can go through progressions, but when the scheme is designed to get the outside WRs one on one with limited check down options, etc., any QB would look mediocre as a passer. They can't run a RB screen to save their life with maybe the most athletic OL in the NFL. They don't have a 3rd or 4th WR option, or don't know how to use a big body like Jones in an Avant role. Don't know if the backup TEs are that bad or they simply haven't schemed to get the ball to the 2nd TE in two TE formations. Imagine what AR would do with Swift as a receiver! Has he run a wheel route all season?

Oh, I dislike the structure of the offense. But that has nothing to do with Hurts' mobility. Hurts ran well vs. Seattle and it didn't matter that much.

Swift has actually run a few wheel routes and even got a fly pattern target. Swift had a TD reception off a Texas route against the Jets. Swift is actually a bad receiver because his routes are so poor. He's fine as a checkdown guy/screens because he's not running routes.

Better hope this season is just the knee and next year Hurts' running will look like 2022 again, because if not, he was not worth that contract. His legs are what made him dynamic.

Weird line.

Vegas must have got wind of Sirriani promising to get back to the standard this week

I've always thought Hurts' running was a little overrated. He has decent wheels and can make some good cuts, but he isn't dynamic at all and is kind of awkward at times.

Devito is going to light up this secondary.

Eagles will need to score at least 30 to win.

And I'm increasingly losing confidence in that occurring with the offense as constructed.

Prove me wrong Eagles.

Yeah. His speed is "fine" but it's not some elite trait. He is very good at fighting through and breaking tackles. Not necessarily something you want him doing all the time, but when you need it, he's one of the best among QB's.

Hurts "hurt" his knee how many weeks ago? And has never missed a snap or a practice rep. Never even showed up on the injury report for it either.

Not to say he didn't or he's not going through what every football player goes through. But it's a crutch to blame everything on his knee. The offense shouldn't just fall apart.

Enough about Hurts' "compromised mobility".  It is a crutch, like you said:

Beating defenders on the edge though is a major difference in the offense. He'll never be Vick or Lamar, but if he can't turn that corner it takes a major element out of the offense. We saw it last year on some major parts of the games where he took the game over with his legs and broke a defense's back. Saw it in the NFCCG.

The hope was that the offense would be less dependent on Jalen’s wheels, and that he take another step forward as a passer.  Jalen has regressed as a passer this season, and the offense still hasn’t evolved from its RPO foundation… stagnation at the player and coaching level.

Hold up did we really pull a rally like the standing ovation they gave Trae Turner?

He was severely ill.  He must have been exhausted after the game.  He shouldn't have had to even do a press conference, then he was standing up they could have at least given him a chair.  Looked like he was going to pass out.  He was also probably on so many different drugs, the best money can buy.

I mean why not get Covey on the field? If the guy is decent at punt returns why can't they get him the ball in space and see what happens?

Because he has never been able to beat press

You can have an excellent RPO offense without a mobile QB. See the 2017 Eagles (Foles) or look at the 2023 Colts with Minshew. You just have to do different things off of it.

Yes... QUICK passes before the defense can react.

Correct.  Every player in the league is "hurt" right now.

Well, everyone except Rashad Penny.  He's in mint condition.

Interesting, because last week he said he was tired of too much focus on his Italian heritage.  Then his agent probably informed him to cash in now before he's a backup again next year.

Avonte was a full practice, he's gonna play Monday

Full practice for Jurgens and Maddox. Hopefully Cunningham and Morrow make it back. DeVonta always seems to miss the 1st practice of the week.

Get that cash while you can. I respect it.

He has plus vision and power as a runner.

but not exactly what makes anyone a good qb…
