Yea, it’s a rule not everyone knows.  Making contact with the OL while trying to get onsides in a rush.  I’m not clear what the rule is and I bet most aren’t either.  But keep being belligerent about it.

I'm not calling out Hurts, I'm calling out the Offensive Coordinator. There are things you do to help out your QB when the O-Line isn't having the greatest day. They couldn't even run a proper Fing screen for crying out loud. I don't even mean it wasn't effective, they couldn't even THROW it.

My issue with the QB/OC is longrunning, they don’t handle the blitz well (either seeing it or addressing it with hots). Hurts has been able to run away from it in the past, but not tonight when he’s running like robocop.

Sweat jumping offside, AJ running his very own special route, Byard playing his own special coverage.....it's just piss poor and they're coming off a bye.

Time to officially adjust the expectations.  The 2022 Eagles are never coming back.

Defense surrendered 14.  Offense surrendered 3 with stupidity... with an assist from a bad punt/punt coverage.

Offense only has had 1 sustained drive, they need to raise their game immensely.  And hopefully we don't hear about Gainwell texting someone about being a moron tonight.

Literally what I'm saying. Defense has dealt with extra possessions because the Offense has been GARBAGE and people are all over Desai, even though he's given up 14 even WITH the extra possessions, and that's WITH Byard playing like he should have a walker and Bradberry regressing insanely this year. Going against the greatest offensive coach of our era.

Like seriously? I know I haven't been here for a while but what happened to the quality of the blog?

Pretty sure they are all coaching football...

I get that he had pressure in his face but that was an easy td to AJ

It looked like AJ adjusted his route mid-route and Hurts had pressure in his face and didn't see it.

Frankly gainwell deserves to be called out. Like that’s just flat out dumb by him. He’s not good enough to make brain dead mistakes and get more opportunities.

Anyone want to bet ? I am willing to bet the Eagles dont get a first down here in the first possesion of the 2nd half.... I would have said they go 3 and out, but it's possible they only get two plays before the Cheifs get the ball through an INT or fumble....

I thought it was either going to be a blowout by the chiefs or the eagles would win close. Felt more towards a blowout for the chiefs as i don’t think the eagles defense was good enough going on the road with reid having two weeks off to gameplan. And the offense while great in the SB really needed an all time type performance by hurts and some really great catches in the sb to keep it close. I think spags is just a way better coordinator then Brian is at their respective stages of their careers.

They need some breaks to win this game. It’s not feeling likely at this point. At the same time the Eagles are running the ball well. AJ is getting open. They can beat this team they just need to run the ball and start beating up their front 7.

That's because he beat Sneed so bad off the line.  Layup TD to AJ

TBH I’m more of a Koy Detmer kinda guy if anything trade for him

They could just sign him but I agree he can hold well still I'm sure.  Otherwise he'd be a massive leader in the lockerroom with a huge amount of respect as a sort of living legend.

Gotta score coming out

How often does Hurts check out of the called play? I’ve not watched him a ton but it seems like he doesn’t audible very frequently pre snap.

It’s not that bad.  As much as we want this win - at the end of the day, it’s one game.

I wouldn’t say they are never coming back, but they are not the same team in 2023.

Yup would have been for sure

No no no, you're right. In fact you're spot on. Brett Kollman (sp?) did a video on us last year, and the big take away was that we basically NEVER adjust hot. And how that's the one massive, massive flaw our offensive scheme has. They still haven't fixed it, and it's ridiculous.

People should ask Sirianni about it every single week in postgame until it's changed.

As long as he doesn't respond until after the game... that's progress.

At what point do you blame the players for not executing. Two blown coverages for TDs. Sweat wants to jump off sides twice and counting. They're getting home but not bringing down the QB. Undisciplined on the designed cut back runs. OL missing blocking assignments. QB and WR not on the same page for a pick.

 Oh ok, well then let me help you out...

This is the rule:

Encroachment

When a defensive player enters the neutral zone and contacts an offensive player or the ball prior to the snap, or interferes with the ball during the snap, it is encroachment and the play is dead immediately

This is NOT the rule:

Encroachment

When a defensive player enters the neutral zone and contacts an offensive player or the ball prior to the snap, or interferes with the ball during the snap, it is encroachment and the play is dead immediately, unless the defender is late to get lined up, in which case he's ENTITLED to bump into the OL on his way back to his side of the line of scrimmage.

The only way the 2022 Eagles are coming back is if Hurts' knee is better.
