The niners could've rested week 18 had they won tonight and if they win in washington.

The eagles did it to themselves they would've been in drivers seat heading into week 17 if they didn't lose to seattle

I’d be surprised if S is drafted high. They took brown in the 3rd round. More likely they sign someone in FA. Lb in the second is a thought but i tend to think they go LB in free agency in the second tier and take a linebacker in rounds 4-7

Sydney Brown needs to start resembling a football player soon.  Very unimpressive again today

There was still too much bone-headedness today, but at least there seemed to be some coherency on offense.  I didn't see a ton of deep shots down the field.  They ran the ball well.

Still need to have an answer to 6+ pass rushes.

Blankenship having a brain fart on cover 2 was the only real egregious mistake I can recall on D.

Nice work by the special teams.

What are you predicting for 1, 2, 2?

In the first I’d be surprised if it’s something other than OL or DL. I think darkhorse is corner if there’s a kid there they like. I know from Arizona coaches here, they’ve talked and scouted Jordan Morgan.

i think it’s likely something along the lines of DL, OL and CB. I also wouldn’t totally be surprised if the the eagles go TE somewhere in rounds 2-7. Also i wouldn’t be completely shocked if WR fell that they liked that they take them in round 2. Likely? No but i wouldn’t rule it out.

I think the 2 best defenses in the NFL play in the AFC North.  Not even sure who number 3 is... those 2 just seem far and away the best... capable of shutting down anyone they face.

Browns defense is pretty bad in the red zone though. Even though they didn't have an answer for Lamar tonight, I'd take the Niners defense over them. Ravens are definitely the best though, no doubt about that.

The blitz pickup was as bad as i could remember today. It was one of the first games i understood hurts bailing on the pocket. That said some of it when i went back and watched is simply they sent more than we had to block. Can’t just always send everyone out cause you are gonna have your play get destroyed by having continuous rushers that go untouched

also Scott had the special teams fumble. That was pretty bad. Covey was great for the most part and elliott

The true identity of this offense is running the ball. Eagles have been in denial all year.

It always has been and it’s the last thing they want to admit. It’s an organizational philosophy with Lurie/Roseman that goes back to the Reid days. They want to air it out and they want fireworks. But Hurts has become too much of a liability to play that style. I thought he was fine today for the most part taking more underneath stuff. But their egos won’t let them run a more ball control, run-oriented offense with a $250 million QB.

Calcaterra actually emerged from his tomb today.  Two catches and I saw one play where he pulled and sprung Swift with a block.

Unfortunately i was high on him during the draft process. But really he hasn’t gotten better each week he’s played. He missed a lot of time this year early. Would be an excuse for his play early on but by now you’d like to see improvements week to week. There’s not. Can argue Blankenship is a solid starter but byard isn’t what he once was and brown might just be what kvon wallace was when here

Was a career high 2. Not gonna count on Calcaterra. He is very injury prone and frankly i think he’s just a backup. I’d like to get someone like the ravens did with isiah likely in the 4th round. I’d probably go DL, OL and Cb with first 3 picks unless a WR falls that they just love. I’d say LB but i know that’s not happening

Weird to have the offense put up 33, only win by 8 and say the defense had a really nice day... but it's true.  Offense gave up 7, ST gave up 3+.  It could be argued that the D could have held for 3 after the turnover to start the half, but that was a ridiculously bad spot to be brought out in.

All in all, the D did well, but we need to remember how plays were just flat out missed by the Giants offense too.  Lots of drops and missed throws to wide open receivers.

And I like the KR just being a fair catch.  We don't have any dangerous returns in us on Kickoffs.  Just lean in to it and protect the football.

Yup. It’s why we can say the defense looked better but they were super fortunate Waller dropped a couple. And tyrod Taylor just stinks

Seattle was a choke job that we shouldn’t have lost, but the Eagles also had no business beating Dallas, KC, and Buffalo.  So it sort of evened out.

You have to get there first.

Seems I have only watched Cleveland in home games though.  Just checked their splits.  Wow, what a disparity in home versus away.  I thought defense and a running game was supposed to travel.   😬

Seahawks loss is gonna haunt us in the homefield advantage. They shouldn’t have lost that game. But like you said they were fortunate in the others to come away wih Ws

Agree on the first. They might take a punt on a WR as high as the third but TE I think will be around fourth or fifth. They just might have Trotter Jr earmarked for one of the seconds. FA will influence his latter moves, but he can't ignore the secondary to such detriment again either way 😕

Special teams was an adventure too even outside of the Scott fumble. We had 12 men on the field essentially giving the Giants a first down when they were punting. Covey also muffed a punt.

Team was supposedly "rebuilding” so I tried to stick to last season when everything was supposedly "stacked”…and Hurts was a "system qb” and ANYbody could win with the team. Yes they haven’t been together long. Even then Siri refused to run the ball and it took awhile, and some boos for him to realized he had to run the ball, he hardheadedly refused but when he started running the ball everything got easier and The Eagles started winning. What game are talking about Minshew won, though?

2021 Minshew started 2 games.  Went 1-1.

For those of you that want Sirianni fired it's not happening unless it's revealed he's some maniac giant A-hole and nobody likes him in the locker room.  All I've heard about him is that players like him because he's himself and doesn't try to be someone else.

If he was winning 5, 6, 7 games a year then yeah he'd get fired most likely.

But having 3 straight playoff appearances, playing in the SB just last year and now about to win 12-13 games, you think they are firing him?

When did we become the Raiders going thru coaches every 2-3 years?

The lack of quick hitters or hot reads against blitzes is infuriating. I don’t know if that’s a Hurts or Nick/BJ thing. But Hurts’ default against the blitz has always been rolling out to his right to extend the play.

Carter’s penalty was irritating. Cause he had time to run off and get off. He got closer to the sideline and just slowed down. And someone should’ve called the timeout realizing he might not make it. I thought covey was fine besides the muff that he got back. Elliott was money. But yeah special teams wasn’t all that good besides elliott and all but one of covey’s PR

Or the Jets game. I remember people downplaying the loss because it was an AFC team and losses happen, but I said it would be costly. Not that this team is all that good, but at least a bye and home field would give them a puncher’s chance. But the loss looks pretty devastating as we sit here today.
