Why are you using passer rating in 2023.

Oh yea he looks like a great passer by all the other metrics.

One hell of a game plan for the post season. Cross your fingers and hope the other team does a few more dumb things than you do.

The Eagles had a pretty big parade because of that a few years ago.

We could have lost Steichen the second the regular season ended and we still would have promoted Johnson.

Its going to sting Hurts bad when they demote BJ next season.

That's more then likely the riff in the locker room. Everyone does not buy in on BJ offense scheme and has made it known to Hurts which explains his "Team needs to buy in" comments. Dont talk about my family friend OC.

How far will it sting however? Will his FO relation ship be broken? Would he ask for a trade? Doubt it, but We have seen crazier things.

To be fair some of these turnovers that are impacting the rating aren't all on him. Goedert slipping his way into a pick 6 is just the latest example. That bad snap by Kelce could have been another. This team has been out of sync all year

Every QB has turnovers that aren’t on them and throws should-be INTs that get dropped…evens out over the course of a season.  And it’s just scary that our $250m franchise QB has a passer rating so low that only 1-2 QB’s with a lower one will even be given a chance to start by their current teams next year.

This team better watch some SBTB.

Just not the episode where Zack and Slater get in a fight.

The interception yesterday was a horrible pass, and the one right before it should have been picked too.

If we're going to do anything at all in the playoffs, he has to stop turning it over and the defense has to either find a passrush or stop the run.

Thing is, he does. QBR, CPOE, Passing yards, etc.

Someone show this to AJ. He should be dominating DBs out there.

Doesn't he lead the entire league in turnovers?

Just seems like a lot more than normal and definitely didn't happen as much last year. We have an offense that for some reason is predicated on the deep ball (even though teams are playing to take it away) instead of the dominating run game that we saw last year that opened everything up. Run concepts have been terrible when teams are playing 2 high safety. Margin for error is impacted by the approach. Then they still have no answers for the blitz. They run these slip screens to try to counter the blitz multiple times a game even though every defense has them sniffed out. Practically wasted plays. Hurts has been far from great. But that seems to be a trend this year. QB play seems down across the league. Predictable play calling doesn't help.

Forget the off field stuff, but AJ has the size and strength to be a top 5 blocker if he wanted to. He's got that mentality when he has the ball, but not blocking. A shame.

Then those stats shouldn't be trusted.

Passer rating is still a widely utilized stat.  QBR is useful, but introduces a lot of noise too.  CPOE really analyzes the execution of a  pass…basically expected vs actual completion percentage.  A QB that makes bad decisions (like Hurts) doesn’t get dinged for that.  Passer rating is just bottom line productivity.

It doesn’t introduce the noise (or therefore account for) competition, situation, etc…so maybe you don’t like it.  Passer rating doesn’t account for those variables but also remains a cleaner stat…like the score of a game.  The losing team may have played better under advanced analysis, but they still lost.  He has not been a reliable or productive passer this year.

Pass was fine Goedert slipped out of his break. Ish happens. Everyone wants Hurts to have better anticipation on his passes. He did it there Dallas slips .. pick 6.

Our offense is 5th in EPA/play and 6th in EPA/dropback.

We're not in the 49ers tier, but this is a good offense.

Everybody wanted to see Hurts run less, now they are all complaining because our running game is less dynamic.

It’s a very good offense.

Covey, 1 offensive snap, 1 catch. Talk about production!

It's so frustrating to think that despite all the struggles, if the Eagles hadn't choked away the Seattle game, they'd be the 1 seed. 49ers could still lose to the Rams. What a wasted opportunity.

Yup. He's been laboring. He's been moving better though so maybe they'll unleash him come playoff time since it's do or die. Wish they could get a week of rest ... screwed themselves there.

They finally benched Quez. It's a Christmas miracle!

Jalen Hurts has a qb rating of 89.6 this year.  With this OL, these WRs, and a $250m contract…in 2023…the starting QB’s passer rating is 89.6.

He has regressed to mediocre.

At least the 9ers are being forced to play that last game if the Eagles and Detroit keep the pressure on.

A few more snap count thoughts:

-Why is Jalen Carter only playing 33% of the snaps and why is he playing less than Milton Williams?

-Kelee Ringo showed up. I'm all on board Slay/Ringo moving forward.

-VanSumeren, while it was one game, showed up more in 57% of snaps than Dean has his entire Eagles career.

-Nolan Smith still needs more snaps. He makes a play every game that stands out. Terrific hit on the pursuit down the LOS. They really need to take Sweats 78% down to less than 70% and Smith needs to be up over 20%.
