This year, it should be called the MVPBF. By default, is the MVP winner. Someone has to win the award but none of the QB’s truly deserve it this year.

I’d prefer CMC (actually Myles Garrett), but is Lamar a legit MVP at this point?

By the time the offense gets their heads out of their asses the defense is gassed and start giving up long drives, and then since they start breaking down

I'm not sure why so many people have this impression. It's not grounded in reality at all. We are 28th in pts allowed in the first half and 10th in pts scored in the first half. There are maybe two or three games where you could make the case that the offense started a bit slow and the defense kept us in it but that's it, every other game it was the opposite.

It’s crazy how much whining I’ve seen from Giants fans about that final play.

I think CMC should get it also.

Tua would be a better choice if a QB were to get it.

Not really, even though he's the front runner right now. They're just playing really well as a team. It should go to Trent Williams. Every time he's been out the Niners haven't been able to score 20 points and lost every game lol

CMac by a mile

Agreed on Run CMC for MVP. It’s him, then Hill, then a bunch of other dudes.

I was more looking towards the Rams game. They have a shot.

I don't think anybody wants to face that Rams offense right now. They're getting hot at the right time. Stafford is playing as well, if not better, than any other QB in the league as of late.

Hmm, I didn't see any struggles at all when it came running the ball. If anything, they should've stuck with it more given how efficient they were on the ground. Most of their struggles were because their OL couldn't maintain a clean pocket for Purdy when they started chasing pts from behind. He had a historically bad game, and possibly punted himself out of the MVP discussion, meanwhile CMC's 100yds and another TD on 14 carries helped his case, rather than hurt it.

Sure, with hindsight Shanahan should have ran more - but he typically doesn’t have a problem forgetting about the run and is an excellent counterpuncher tactically to get back to his brand of ball. BAL leaping out after the half and the SF OL injuries sealed the deal, but schematically the ravens were doing something before that to both make Purdy play and in tight windows.

There’s the upcoming Tua/Lamar bowl to determine that I guess.

That’s a fair point - and certainly something we see here with Lane.

Look at the top of the screen. Two WRs right next to each other despite there being no safety over the top. Looks like the slot takes a lazy release and drifts outside. Imagine if he identifies single high and runs just a skinny post. Also, looks like Goedert is breaking free as well.

It’s a relatively easy completion so no harm no foul, but it looks like there was some meat left on the bone.

CMC can win offensive player of the year. Leave MVP to a quarterback. They’re actually the most valuable player.

This team is stupid..Goedert for a possible td

Hmmm… looks like defenses have identified that too much of our decision making is made pre-snap, and they can put out the cheese.

To be fair, he was in Hurts’ blind spot…in front of the line of scrimmage and in between the hash marks.

Been saying this for two straight years now. Defenses are dictating our offense and victimizing Hurts inability to read/offense's inability to adjust after the snap.

Do you mean the middle of the field?

You're remembering too much of the first 5 weeks of the season where they scored a majority of their first half points. Since the bye week they hadn't  scored more than 10 in the first half until Monday. They scored 7 or less in 4/5 games (Seahawks game they scored 10).

This is why you can't just point at stats and say this team is good. The offense is not good in the first half and hasn't been for over a month

Rashard Mendenhall might get upset about this.

He doesn’t deserve to be in the MVP discussing any longer. It doesn’t really matter anyhow, but to insist he is still MVP material this year is just silly. IMO!!

I would put Lamar Jackson ahead of him.
