It's what a lot of people have been saying for sometime, but it is great when the problem can actually be shown.  Hurts has some great qualities but his tendency to take off and run too quickly is really hurting the offense.  This play is a perfect example.

Maybe I don't normally pay much attention to college bowl games, but most of these games have been worse than your average college football game.

There are too many and half the time you're just watching two barely above .500 teams playing. The transfer portal is going to make them worse as guys who were key components to a teams success transfer after the season and before the bowl so they don't play. Used to be a time I didn't miss a bowl game or at least had them on while I did other things. It also seems like they used to be scheduled better so there was only one or two per night rather than 6 in a day.

Have to agree here.  Clear as day.

He creates pressure for himself constantly. The line has been under performing compared to their expectation but he makes it look way worse

The issue with the OL is it's hard to maintain a bubble when the QB bails on it when he doesn't need to.  Hurts makes the OLs work hard with his skittishness

He's a perfectionist. I'm sure my team at work gripe that I'm always finding something wrong and looking for problems.

It's just the way I am (even though I am finding stuff that is wrong)

One thing with Jordan Davis.  He has played 463 snaps this year after 224 last year = he played only 1127 in his College career.  Davis is now in unchartered territory from a career perspective and will likely play just under 50% of his College snaps in the regular season.  Just something to consider with his recent lull.

WTF is wrong with Howie not getting Suh again? Just to get snaps.

You didn't end your last sentence with a period.

I get your note but he made a catch for 7 yards and they never went to him again. He could be used more successfully but like wirh many things Nick amd BJ don't stick with what is working

there are 10 players on offense and the Eagles typically use 5.  The Eagles use the 2 WRs more than any other team.

So, I wouldn't necessarily say that they don't stick with what's working but that they use the same players all the time.

I would think it would help the Eagles to use the other players more often.

Should have kept Street. I thought he was a decent trade chip at the time but man, he could snaps now (provided he doesn't get hurt if he was still here).

No expert on this, but there's a limit on how many times a 350 lb guy can fire off the ball. Davis and the Eagles have a responsibility to reach whatever that limit is, but I don't know if it's reasonable to expect him to do it 50 times a game at the level we saw him at earlier in the season.

I don't know if this is true or not -- maybe it is -- but if you're going to draft a player with such play-time limitations, maybe you shouldn't pick him thirteenth overall.

I do that all the time. I worked with an English Major from an Ivy League uni who used to be driven nuts by my rather lapse attitude to full stops at end of sentences/paras/bullet points. I still feel sorry for her now.  At least I knew she was reading my emails

He'd say I have Tui and Marlon under cost control. Don't need a Suh in the house

I guess they'd balance that lowish snap count with the impact he has on the game, esp if they can neutralise the run game with him being there on 1st/2nd down.  Carter will certainly balance that out, longer term - we'd hope

Frankly I'm amazed he got as many yards as he did. (But he's just like CMC so...)

That's how it works.  Use the punt returner moves and quickness and agility, which is one of the things that Covey has that is similar to CMC, get 7 extra yards.

Its always a projection

Perfect!!! The Eagles love doing the opposite of what they should. BOMBS away.

It's interesting how Nike has become so unoriginal in what they do. There's only SO much you can do in regards to uniforms and that's why traditional is the way to go. Don't they look at this and say to themselves, we already gave the Red Sox light blue and yellow CC uniforms. MAYBE the Phillies should be something completely different and we avoid their city flag? The whole CC program is beyond stupid and will only get worse.

Nike besides the Kelly green alternates have done an awful job. Sixers routinely keep bypassing the early 2000s iverson jerseys. Literally every fan wants that and they just keep not doing it. I’m guessing it’s not solely a sixers decision. I’m betting it comes back to something with nike. I know from an Arizona coach here Nike is trying to reduce its budget it’s why you might see some colleges leave Nike that have been with them for decades

Truth be told...Nike effed the Kelly Greens up too. Don't get me wrong, I love them. However, the shades are just too light.

The Iverson era weren't my favorite. I loved his rookie year uniforms but I agree, having them back as an option would be awesome.

after the first 3-4 games I though Jalen Carter was going to be Rookie of the year....

Man he really came back to Earth since then. Still a good player but not what he was the first couple of games.

Shame, I though we really had drafted a steal impact player....   That once in a few drafts player that is heads and shoulders above everyone else in his draft class.

You joke but Ben VanSumeren lead blocking for Covey would fix this offense faster than signing Zach Ertz

Correct

the crazier version of that is Ben Vans and Covey as co running QBs.

Huh?

Carter is an overwhelming lock to win DROY.

He's a bigger betting favourite to win DROY than CJ Stroud is to win OROY: -20,000 for Carter to -1,000 for Stroud.

He IS heads and shoulders above everyone else in his draft class.
