From a bar discussion with fellow Birds diehards last night…

”What non-Eagle team or player will you root hard for this year if the Birds are eliminated in the playoffs?”

For me, I said the Browns and Flacco. A blue collar fanbase almost as passionate as ours, a great defense, and a hell of a storyline with Flacco coming off the couch.

Just curious to see what others would answer. Some of my buddies went with the Dolphins, Bills, Lamar.

Whoever is playing the Cowboys.

The AFC team that advances to the superbowl.

Yeah. Fits my narrative too.  Cleveland, Buffalo, Baltimore.  Same passion as us on the first 2 and I have always liked Baltimore's punch you in the face-ness.

"Even though he will likely win DROY"

WHere is this coming from- I am very doubtful he would win DROY.....   he looked like he was heading that way in teh first 4 games.....  But now?

aint happening

He probably will. He has far and away the best odds currently. Everyone else in the conversation has been or is injured and missed time. Who else do you think should win? There's not many standout rookie defenders this year.

Well it's not Jeff McLane but the even worse Marcus Hayes. Damn you fans who go to the game. Don't you know to shut up!

Season ticket holder for almost 20 years now. The crowd noise is the same this year as it was last year and the year before and so on.

Just another excuse instead of admitting thier flaws.

For the most part I agree. But there has been a very recent trend of fans starting to raise their voice level as tush push plays are about to be run. I could see where linemen would have an issue in those instances.

Basically every site tracking DPOY odds.

D-Shiznit answered this already to you, of where it's coming from.  Other links below as well.  Some links when I googled are blocked by my work firewall but the preview of all of them lists Jalen Carter as the clear favorite.

This has to be based off his performance in his first 4 games or so, because he has been almost invisible the past 6 or so games.

I like when a fanbase that's been loyal for a long time without a championship (sound familiar) wins.  Bills, Browns and Lions fans have been through a lot stay loyal to their teams.  I would like to see any of them win.  Other than that, I can't stomach the 49ers or Cowboys so whoever in the AFC is playing them I would hope to win.  I don't really want to see the Chiefs win anything ever again and I've grown to really not like Mahomes, but I'd prefer them over 49ers or Cowboys if they made it.

I agree with all that, except the Lions. I can’t root NFC if the Birds are out.

1) Lamar and John Harbaugh and the Ravens

2) Browns

3) Bills

4) Texans if they make it.

I would definitely root for the Texans if they squeak in.

I dont pay attention to odds... I'm just going off of his play falling off the cliff mid season.

It's a new twist on "I'm in the best shape of my lfie"

Isn't that the same guy who was super pissed about not getting a registered sack for intentional grounding?

Josh "just give me the sack" Sweat now doesn't care about getting the sack

You know TATE has gone into full "Taters gonna Tate" mode when the best Defensive rookie in the NFL and the soon to be first ever DROY winner in Eagles history isn't even good enough.

This fanbase needs to take a big deep breath.

This.

Where's the dude who comes in here and gets all bent out of shape and immediately threatens to report people when they disagree with him?  (can't remember his name)

I wanna hear his opinion on the state of the team!

This fan base has low IQ. Especially those bringing the noise at home games when the Eagles are on freaking offense. Need a STFU message on the Jumbotron.

Could any one of a number of people

Barrett Carter would look good in Eagles green in 2025.

A man can dream...

Nothing wrong with wanting more out of players, no matter the accolades that might come their way. The fact of the matter is that Carter started off like gang busters and has cooled off significantly. It's also fair to want him on the field more. You're the 9th overall pick, you need to be on the field more than 50% of the time.

Jalen Carter has had a good rookie season. My expectations for him are to be great.

Or what he's saying is Eagles home fans have been stupid and unaware for at least 20 years.

Just as long as the Linc doesn't have any metal plates to bang on like last night's game...that was obnoxious. Even Al Michaels quipped in that the noise was coming from Houston Astro fans and their garbage cans.

If the noise which is very little during offense is the same this year to last year, then why did it not bother them last year in 2022 but all of a sudden this year does? It's an excuse.
