FSU should have declined the bowl if they didn't want to play in it

I bet it wasn't an option. There are likely contractual obligations with their conference.

No. The eagles as they're currently playing can lose to any team. We shouldn't be counting any win as guaranteed, so we should be rooting for the cowboys to lose until we clinch the division. We're no longer in a position to focus on seeding, win the division and then root for other outcomes

Agreed.   Also, I don't really care about the difference between Lions 3 at Eagles 2 and Eagles 3 at Lions 2.  If the Cowboys win, it increases the chances the Eagles get 5 on the road.

Basically,  there are arguments to be made in favor of each of those 2 outcomes,  so, really, root for who you want or don't root at all if you don't want to.

There is no legitimate argument for not rooting for the Lions loss tonight.

FSU getting smashed. Why the committee made the right call. Sports is about entertainment value. FSU getting into the final 4 would've been a disaster for the fun of the playoff.

Disaster for the fun of the playoff, but what’s the fun in watching CFB before November next year?

I probably won’t watch a single CFB game between this year’s playoff and next year’s.  If it’s all about playoff entertainment, then that’s all im watching.

Georgia asking fans in the stands if they want to play QB.....

If Detroit wins Eagles can clinch the NFCE with a win tomorrow.

If Dallas wins and Eagles win tomorrow, they have control of the #2 seed

I'd rather ensure we win the division. Not to mention, who in their right mind would root for a Dallas win and call themselves an Eagles fan.

How would it impact the regular season? It didn't impact the regular season this year. The decisions for the playoff are made when the regular season ends, so there will be no impact on it.

Bow games serve as a good preview for next year such as Miller Moss at USC.

Other than that, they are useless.

Don't Bowl games provide a good chunk 'o' change for the schools though? I'll bet the NCAA and various conferences really hope people still tune into Bowl Games.

F the NCAA.

Go Dawgs!

This team deserved a chance to defend their title.

I think that was the statement they wanted to make today.  I know FSU had alot of guys sit out but Georgia was trying to say we belonged in the CFP.  Problem is the 4 teams currently in also deserved it.

I would think more FSU players would have wanted to use today to show they belonged. Like Georgia kids decided to do.

Exactly

@mattwill

Eagles 23

Cardinals 27

Bonus: Eagles get 0 sacks.

Eagles don't need to win Cowboys to lose to win the division.  It's short sighted to not root for outcomes in games that will allow the Eagles to get back the #2 and possibly #1 seed.

The Cowboys winning increases the probability that the Eagles don't win the division.

I hate Dallas. If they lose we can win the division tomorrow.

I’m going to the game with my son and want them to clinch the NFCE while we’re in attendance.

I hate Dallas and will root for DET tonight.

Fight me.

This has Lowie stamped all over it.

I do understand that a Detroit loss would put them behind us.

But as a matter of character and integrity, I cannot root for Dallas to win.

The very idea disgusts me.

Huh? How is this different than the NFL?

I will not fight you.   I will also not root for Dallas.   Nor will I root for Detroit.  I will be neutral on the game and hope for a tie, the best of both worlds.

Picking in the late parts of round 1, this guy just stands out to me as a potential target. Is he a safety? Is he a zone CB? I dont know where he settles in. But hes a play maker with ideal size and if you have a solid DC, he will find a way to fit this guy in to the system. Bonus points for special teams playmaking as well.

Hoping our boy, future Eagle, Micha Parsons has a big night tonight.  Let's go Dak!

Eagles have two games left.  The Eagles control their own destiny.  If they can't beat two of the worst teams in the league these final two weeks then they don't deserve to win the division.  They will win their final games though and they need the Lions to drop a game and this is the best chance for that with only 2 games left.

But a division win tomorrow gurantees the cowboys will be on the road the entire playoffs.

A fake one.

You attack people.   You attack many people.  You should be banned for that.

Don't we already have that guy?   Can this guy tackle?

Go write a diatribe about Jake Elliott playing fullback. Only a weak-willed person like you would clutch their pearls and say I "attack” many people. You and RTK aren’t many people. You’re both trolls. I mock you both for it. Deal with it.

Eagles winning their next two games also guarantees the Cowboys will be on the road for the entire playoffs.  If you apparently have so little confidence in the Eagles ability to beat the Cardinals and Giants then what the hell does the division even matter to you?  A lot of haters out there just want their narrative to win out and thus don't want the Eagles to be set up with the best possible outcome for the playoff seeding.  Lot of people here would actually be upset if the Eagles end up with the #2 or even #1 seed at this point.
