Well they need at least one series to warm up and also they like to give up points in the final 2 minutes of a half. 

is it possible the offense goes 3 and out and eats no time and the cards score before the half then gets the ball to start the 2nd half?

Defense is worn out.  Cardinals getting the ball to start the second half could really cause some further damage.  If I'm the Eagles I open the second half with an onsides kick.  Either get the ball and give the defense rest or at least give the defense a shorter field so they aren't on that long.
