There is no defense worse than ours. I don't care what statistics say. I can't believe people are defending this embarrassment of a defense. All they needed on the second half was ONE stop. Count it, ONE. And they couldn't do it..

That was bad.  They even knew the blitz was coming instead of calling some sort of check down play they force Hurts to run.  They need a new coordinator and need one now if they plan on going anywhere in the playoffs.

 

As for the defense, I don’t think I’ve witnessed a defense in 35+ years of watching NFL football that just can’t get a stop.   It’s beyond bizarre.  Are they really that bad or is it the scheme?  Combination of the two maybe?  It’s just painful to watch at this point. 

If there is any positive to this, we needed to see an embarrassment to spearhead change. And Gannon walking into this stadium with his 3 win team, stomping this defense out, and costing them a home playoff game and the division is probably the most embarrassing thing that could have happened. There’s no chance that sits with Lurie and Roseman well. Heads are going to roll.

It’s the worst Eagles defense I’ve seen in 35 years.  Bar none.

That's...the entire point of what I've been saying. People keep blaming the defense, who we know is terrible, but there have been PLENTY of games where they weren't THAT bad and the offense was. But people see teams winning on a game ending drive and blame the defense. Despite the offense not being able to score or do really anything.

Again, the Seahawks game is the prime example but it happened last week too. Everyone says the defense played like garbage but they gave up 17 points....

This team will need 2 years of drafts to build a competent defense.

But by then, the window will have closed on this talented offense.

The LBs are seven yards off the LoS while the Cardinals are gashing them for over 200 yards rushing.  So stupid.  This was as bad a performance on D as I can remember.

Nobody is saying that. Defense doesn’t even have an adjective available to properly describe it. But the offense also was not good considering the opponent and every other factor surrounding it.

The offense isn't fine, but the defense is horrible.  Have you ever seen a worse Eagles D than this one since the Miami game?

Can't score a TD with a short field because you take a penalty and then QB run twice when swift was killing it on the ground. Maybe run a slant instead of two qb runs?

 

Yeah offense shares the blame also. I am not saying that the defense was even serviceable today but the offense has way more talent on that side of the ball to do that.

Yep. The acting like a cocky clown bs only goes so far until the players see how incompetent he is and it stops working.  He is losing the team. He should be fired. He isn't a good coach.  He had good coaches who carried him.

Defensive scheme is too soft.... offensive approach too dumb. Not fixable unless you make some drastic moves in the off-season 

I can't believe how they handled that 1st and 20 drive. After all the criticism the offense has gotten all season. They went out there with the hubris of doing the same thing AGAIN. It's absolutely infuriating. And should cost someone(s) their job. It was that blatantly awful.
