Nick is not at the top of my blame list other than "the buck stops with the HC.”

For the season I blame:

1. OC - this offense has rarely looked smooth and productive. And this defense was built to play with the lead

2. Roster construction - this is (somewhat) hindsight but there is some age in places you don’t want age (BG, Cox, Bradbury, Slay) and then real thin at LB, S, and CB so injuries and age stick out that much more.
3. Hurts/OL - not bad but not up to what we are used to either. Jalen has been good but you need your franchise QB to be more than good.

DC - he is in there somewhere - I just can’t tell where.

really, aside from STs, AJ and Smith, what are the bright spots of the season? Even from the beginning when healthy and rested this team never looked smooth.

I'm not mad either.

Look back in the comments.  I called exactly what was going to happen once the offense stalled.

Kick the FG and then Cards go down and score a TD to win.

You can see it coming a mile away.

At 4th and 15th it was the right call. The issue was the playcalling on first three downs. They went super conservative on a day it made no sense to.

But this loss is totally on the D. They were lit up the entire game. The couldn’t stop them. Every drive (except the 99 yard int td), the Cards got points. They got the ball 4 times in 2nd half and scored 4 TDs, all on drives of 70+ yards. Can’t win like that

We can do Time of Possession too? Or maybe over 200 rushing yards given up.

You want to win or feel better about yourself

They didn’t make most of the limited possessions

The defense was an abortion. How many times does that need to be said?

I understand it has been acknowledged the defense was terrible. But I cannot accept the offense taking any amount of blame for this particular game. Just because of 1 possession on a short field that only resulted in a FG and not a TD does not justify saying the offense played like ass.

This was a historically bad performance by the defense, and to see multiple posts in here talking about, "if the offense was better” is outrageous.

Why do they always go conservative in close games and play for fgs? Fgs don’t win games tds do.

Already have 44. Not sure when it was created though.

For giggles, those things have zero impact, just gives fans a chance to vent their frustrations

They put up 24 points with basically 5 possessions. That last possession doesn’t even really count since there was only 30 seconds left.

Not much reason to play next week.  Might as well sit everyone.

This is the correct take. We're essentially locked into the 5 seed.

We need rest and a re-set more than the chance at a home playoff game.

Honestly? This team is going to win one playoff game at best. Might as well evaluate the younger players in NY.

Yeah it is. Defense lost the game in the same exact manner they lost the superbowl. No effort no stops sustained touchdowns against over and over

It’s literally not. Defense was atrocious. Offense wasn’t as good as it needs to be. See how that works?

I said when not why lol

"Can you tell us why?”

AJ is a much stronger man than I am because I’d get fined in that situation. 😂

They won’t beat Tampa or whoever comes out of the south.

Your point made no sense.

Yup. That play and result alone should get BJ fired and Sirianni can follow him.

Worst part is, Smith was a blocker on the two previous plays as well.

F the whole coaching staff.  Except sotutland

I agree.  Sotutland should return.

He shouldn't be fired unless the majority of the locker room absolutely hates him and doesn't want to play for him which I don't think is the case.

Who knows at this point?

When rumors start leaking out about players being upset (like they have recently) - 90% of the time that is typically the nail in the coffin for head coaches.  (Whether it’s his fault or not).  The front office views it as the head coach losing the locker room.

I think that's giving him too much credit

He hasn't lasted with any team for more than 2-3 years throughout his NFL tenure

That tells you everything you need to know

This puts me over the top. Probably just ended his season having him block on a 3rd and 20 screen pass.

Every week we find out new ways to mismanage our players. Watch tae blocking every week like this he gets up slower here and there. Finally broke the camels back. This season is a monumental failure and the coaches and Bradbury are to blame fully.

Here’s my biggest gripe that I want to talk about. Look at any great defense, whether today or from yesteryear, and what do most of them have in common? Playmakers at LB and a solid DLine. This team just outright ignoring LBs for years now has to stop this offseason.
