Heads need to roll over this.

They got rid of their DC and their new interim DC won’t be the DC next year.

Getting close wins vs. KC & Buffalo is NOT the same as getting close wins vs. the Giants.

Everyone kept chanting 10-1, 10-1, then 10-2, etc.

We all knew they haven’t looked good all year.  We (understandably) ignored it when every single game mystifyingly went their way at the very end.

But the 2022 Vikings were the right comparison all along.

We aren’t beating the 49ers anyway with this scrub D good thing Dallas can’t either

The thing with the playoffs is anything can happen including injuries. Last I heard Mccaffery went out of the game and was questionable. Imagine if samuel or williams went out half way through NFCCG?

No, it's the organizational scheme/philosophy's scheme, not just Desai's...this goes all the way back to Schwartz.

Our defensive success is predicated on getting to the QB, last year we caught lighting in the bottle with all the sacks.

This year it's backfired on us and opposing teams have learned to exploit our deficiencies.

As long as Howie continues to prioritize the DL and undersized speedy players and neglect the LB/CB/S positions this defense will continue to be ass

And they’re going to go all in on the DL in the off-season again because the DL sucked for over a month now and Howie is going to be pissed and overreact. They need two offseasons where they neglect the DL and add talent to the back 7. Specifically in the draft with young cheap talent.

BG and Sweat look cooked cooked, softest D I have seen here maybe ever

But everyone else may go. Buh Bye. Slay,Bradberry, Cox,Graham, Reddick, Sweat,  and the rest the guys who play like no names. Not one play was made by any of these guys today

Reddick? He hasn't had the year he did last season, but he's been one of the only players that has shown up.

And we can't afford to cut Slay or Bradberry with the cap hit, iirc

Been saying for weeks.

2020 Steelers

2021 Titans

2022 Vikings

2023 Eagles

All fraudulent teams hidden by good records.

I know it's early to be talking draft... but Eagles need to invest HEAVILY on the defensive side of the ball and still find a way to come up with a RB and 3rd WR. But defense is priority.

I predicted a record of 10-7 at the beginning of the season. I felt the short offseason and strength of schedule would be too much to overcome.I left a caveat that next season would be a big bounce back year...now I am not so sure. The defense is a real mess. Howie has his work cut out for him this offseason...

Worst defense in 17 years

Ouch

Definitely the worst I’ve seen. Even when I thought we were bad we weren’t getting 0 sacks and giving up long TD drives over and over. It’s happens too many times in the last calendar year.

If the playoffs are the goal then we have very different goals. I want a Super Bowl. Not to lose to a 3 win team when you have a chance at winning the division.

You'd still have to go through the playoffs to get to the SB...

People were hoping for the shortest journey considering the state of the team

Does anyone remember back in the first half of the season when some of us were saying that, even though we were winning, it didn't look right?  Remember when other people here told us that we were wrong and that "a win is a win?"

Good times, eh?

I remember complaining about it and people in here saying that lol

You don’t just all of a sudden get it and start clicking 17 weeks in. This team is what they were week 1. A very flawed team. 10 -1 hid it all. Now they are getting exposed by good teams and some of the worst teams in the league.

This is the issue.  If they lost close games to the top teams, but beat the bad teams like they are supposed to it wouldn't be so bad.  They've struggled in every game, and been blown out in games.  They haven't had even one game that was 'good' for 60 minutes.

Yeah. Kinda wish MVS and that Bills recover caught those TDs. And the Cowgirls had those extra 2 yards. Then we could overhaul that staff and give these players some respectable leadership.

So at #5 seed we get TB or the Saints. Win that and we most likely get the 49ers. Best case Cowboys and Lions lose and we get a home game. One of them lose and we get the one that doesn’t.

Nolan Smith at #30 was well received, considered a steal. Limited snaps, as usual for a rookie. Let's see what he does next year.

Brown a good 3rd round pick, Ringo was good value in the 4th, Ricks for an UDFA was good. Steen still developing, good backup. Ojomo for a 7th rounder is a decent backup. These young guys will only get better, they need better coaching and better talent around them (DE, LB, Bradberry has to go too).

His draft may eventually be good. But as a SB contender going for a title shouldn’t be banking on a draft class to carry them. If that’s case should be in rebuild mode and you shouldn’t have extended slay and bradberry and just went young everywhere surrounded by veterans like reddick, sweat and maybe Cox/graham who could still play solid depth roles and help. Like the chiefs did last year with their defense.

no one wants to talk about it but since 2016, the reason the defense is so up and down year to year is because they don’t draft and develop guys at the level like San Francisco and Baltimore does. SF and Baltimore adds guys into the equation that helps but they aren’t solely reliant on them. The Eagles rely on almost exclusively older veterans who they drafted ages ago or in free agency to make up a defense. If you were better at drafting and developing guys, you would have a young fast defense. You have sweat, Davis, Blankenship and Carter as young starters. I’d argue davis and sweat have not been really good in like 2 months. The rest are older guys and veterans who likely downside of their careers and aren’t worth their value.

The defense needs to be rebuilt, right from the pins, so to speak.  No one over 30 has any use in 2024 and should be gone.  Hire an experienced defensive coordinator, bye bye Bradberry, Slay, Graham, Cox.  Draft either a stud linebacker or safety.  The defensive philosophy needs to change.  Put assets into defending the pass.  Get guys with fresh legs and, above all, become more aggressive on defense and start taking the ball away.

Depends on how he handles it.

I just want them to get to the SF game. Odds are they get blown out again but the off chance to end that team’s season will make this disaster year worth it.

Sucks Saints won today. A loss would have given us a top #50 pick

This.

This is an epic collapse; started the month as a #1seed and now #5 because of a loss to a 4 win team

What does he really bring if he's not an X's and O's kind of guy?

He went and drank beer with Kelce in the offseason to see if he'd return or not.  So, that's what he is... he's the guy they send on beer runs.
