I don’t know how they fix the defense. Can’t say they go to free agency and sign a couple guys and hit on some draft picks, but if it was that easy, they would consistently have a good defense. Go back to 2016, the eagles haven’t had a good consistency level on defense. It’s always up and down besides really 2017 and 2018 (by the end of the season). Some of that has been injuries, but for the most part when you try to plug a bunch of guys from free agency and you’re not drafting and developing at a high enough level. it eventually he’s going to catch up to you. you keep squandering draft picks on guys like Quinn and byard. They frankly would’ve been in the same spot with edmonds. They would be the same spot with edmunds, but they would have the draft picks. Ditto with Quinn.

Free agency: Jaylon Johnson and CJGJ. First round: CB. Second round: safety/LB. Third round: LB/S.Sign a couple solid veteran LBs that are actually good.

Hire a proven coordinator. In the NFL it’s never as good or bad as it looks.much can change in an off-season. We see this every year.

So the Eagles will play the Bucs and Baker in Tampa for the wild card round.  If they win, they will be rewarded with a trip to SF on 2 weeks rest.

So this season will mercifully come to an end either in Tampa or in SF no later than the divisional round.

If the eagles are the lowest seed out of the wc round then yes they go to sf

I would rather that they lose in tampa/NO 🤷‍♂️

Just saying if Gannon and cardinals would’ve let the eagles know that he was their top choice or a strong candidate there’s likely a good chance fangio is the Dc and not in Miami. Granted fangio has looked awful against ravens, Buffalo and eagles

I've never gotten this narrative. Even if Gannon knew he was a top candidate, it's very unlikely Fangio turns down the Miami job and waits it out. Would have been a huge risk. No guarantee Gannon gets the job.

For all of you that give a rats ass about some loser 5th seed road wildcard game, I wish you luck. And I'll see you next season. 10-1 to a five seed is utterly humiliating.

Oh and go Flyers. A team worth rooting for. Not these overpriced underperforming chumps. Most hated team since the dream team.

I get it Siri is the HC.....   but it's the defense thats been losing the games,  when your Offense puts up 31....  they did their part- The Offense would have to be perfect to win with this defense.

Now , yes Siri is the HC, but he didn't pick these players. Howie did. And now with Desai and Patricia both not doing well- it has to be the lack of talent on Defense.

We THOUGHT the Defense had talent- But they really dont. The talented players would flash once and while even on a bad defense. Not one defensive player flashed today or at any time in the past 5 - 6 games.   we over rated the defensive talent.

1 - The offense put up 24, not 31.  The offense did not do their part.  They had the ball in their possession in a tie game with 5 minutes left and they crapped the bed.  If not for the onside kick, they wouldn't have even been in position to get the last FG.  They played not to lose.  And they lost.

2 - Siri is the HC, he's the guy that sets the tone for the team and the locker room.  The locker room is broken right now and multiple players have given up on the coaching staff.

3 - With Desai and Patricia both not doing well indicates that it can still be both scheme AND players.  It does not prove it is players alone.  There are teams around the league that are less 'talented' than the Eagles' defense and they are playing better than the Eagles.

Sirianni is the HC and once upon a time, the leader would say, "the buck stops with me", and not pass the buck on to someone else.  The offense is and has been out of sync for a long time.  This team continues to turn to their QB to RUN the ball when they feel that they are in a situation where they need a play.  They paid him $250M, and he's only a glorified RB?!  That's COACHING.  They ran FOUR consecutive QB runs today in the 4th quarter.  That's horrific offense in the NFL.  This isn't high school, or even the NCAA.  Four consecutive DESIGNED QB runs means that your offense is broken.

At this point I'm not sure how much blame to assign to Desai for the defense.  Patricia's results have been just as bad or even worse.  This defense is solely dependent on a superior pass rush, without which it gets totally exposed as has been the case most of this year.

It appears to be a Howie problem moreso than anything.

I said this for weeks. I didn’t say specifically howie but I said the biggest issue they have is their personnel is not good enough. The defensive line has been overrated all year. Sweat hasn’t played well since October. Id argue Cox has been the most consistent DLineman week to week. Your back 7 simply doesn’t have enough play makers and the linebackers are legitimately garbage besides Cunningham who’s in his 30s and hurt

it’s why I said a couple weeks ago you could fire desai it’s not gonna bother me. The problem is is you’re expecting somebody else to come in here and just magically have them starting to play better. It was never gonna happen. Because your personal is not good enough. Add on i don’t think the Fangio philosophy that the Eagles want employ works as well any more. Go look at Fangio today, they gave up 56 points to the Ravens. He gave up in the 40s to the bills. To the Eagles 30+. The only time they had success vs. a good offense was Dallas and that’s because Dallas’s offense has looked mediocre since they played the Eagles.

So besides, just a personnel isn’t good enough, your organization has a philosophical approach that will work if you have a good personal against bad and mediocre teams (Gannon last year). But it has shown that if you have bad personnel, it’s going to get killed by everybody. And if you do have good personnel, but fave A prolific offense, you’re still gonna get Gutted (Gannon last year).

Of course... but he was bad on that play.   He might be bad on other plays too, but we know that they can go after other guys who are worse... Morrow, Maddox, so many options... so who knows what he really is.

The season isn't over yet.

It's important to see if anyone quits, because you don't want to build around those guys.

Fangio was in the building already. If they knew the cardinals had serious interest in hiring Gannon, I’m guessing fangio waits to make a decision until that was made clear. Miami wasn’t rushing to hire someone else over fangio. It wasn’t like fangio was going to be out of a job if he waited to see what happened with Gannon

I'm not gonna sit here and tell you that the defensive scheme isn't an issue.. it is... but even with a bad scheme, good players would still flash

and Yes the Offense at times isn't great- but it's head and shoulders above the Defense. If the Defense gives the Offense one  more opporunities, buy making ONE FREAKING STOP all game , they likely win this game. The Offense shouldn't have to put up 30+ every game in order to just squeak by, with the limited drives the O gets? Thats crazy. They have to be literally perfect and score on every drive, because the defense lets the opponent score ON EVERY FREAKING DRIVE

I still don't buy it. Miami isn't going to sit around while all the best D Coordinator options are being picked off and just wait for Fangio. They're going to make him a take it or leave it offer. Teams don't simply wait around. Nobody likes being the second choice.

Referees getting involved again with a bogus intentional grounding call this time.

I know it's early to be talking draft... but Eagles need to invest HEAVILY on the defensive side of the ball and still find a way to come up with a RB and 3rd WR. But defense is priority.

RB is easy. Extend Swift and sign another vet with a power running style, like say, Penny. But actually utilize him as the thunder to Swifts lightning. It's not hard. This team forces their agenda to a fault and makes everything so hard. Plus they're smarter than everyone else and stubborn as f***... Maybe draft another on day 3 as well if the right one is there.

It’s not always easy to know what quitting is, from our perspective at least.

A bad quote or a lazy block, sure, but it’s usually not easy.

They are playing like garbage but it doesn’t mean they’ve quit.

And absolute crap call

I can't even watch football right now I'm so embarrassed and disgusted.

I still can't fathom how the team got so bad and my worst fears after blowing the SB seem to have come true, we won't be that good again for a while.

He lost to the Cards at home in a must win. He needs to be fired. No excuses for that.

Whatever new coordinators get hired this offseason (hopefully OC and DC) they can’t be in house hires. Need new philosophies and schemes.

Vic Fangio gave up 56 points today.  I'm over the Fangio angst.  He wouldn't have made a difference with these bums.  We're devoid of talent on D.

Good luck getting a good candidate with the head coach on the hot seat and the total lack of talent on D.  We're better off cleaning house entirely.
